I don't trust weed guards
Maybe, but you're wrong about weedless rigs and jigs with a brush guard. If you don't want to use them, you will be severely limited to where you can fish.

Working to Stay Lean ~
I had pizza for lunch. Looks like I'll have to spend an extra two hours at the skate park to make it up.

How do boat fishermen really feel about kayak anglers?
What's a no wake zone? Seriously, though, no wake means NO WAKE. NO WAKE is probably not an issue for any vessel, powered or not. My point was, if you are running and overtaking a non motorized vessel, GO AROUND THEM. Slowing down just creates a big wake, and helps no one. If you're idling, and you can't pass a kayaker, your boat is probably broken. My boat idles at around 4 mph. The fastest I've ever gotten my kayak going is a little over 5 mph, and I was really paddling or pedaling, depending on the boat. Most often, I'd be moving at 2 to 2.5 mph.

Just stay on plane and don't get too close. Planing bass boats make less wake than plowing water off plane.

Lake Champlain Spring Bass
We usually launch out of Crown Pointe launch. The south end will be fine. I once took a chance on running up north in a tournament, and it was a waste of time, without doing some serious pre fishing. On the south end, really just look for a good shoreline that looks bassy on the map. The eastern shoreline south of ferry crossing was always a productive area. It's such a good lake, there aren't really any bad spots. Prespawn is pretty typical. Look for areas near deep water with good spawning flats nearby.

Who uses Junebug worms
I really thought it was gonna beat 7-2. No matter, thing fought like a beast. Was using a spinning rod with 15# Power Pro and an 8# Seaguar Blue Label leader. Three drag screaming runs, a couple splashes and got her lipped. Caught several big fish that day.

How do boat fishermen really feel about kayak anglers?
I don't care what they think, whether I'm in my 22' bass boat, a tin can rental, canoe, or kayak. My capabilities or whether they think what I'm doing is within my rights or risky is my business. Do something reckless around me, I'll get your registration numbers, and call them in. There is a very heavy presence on my waters by the sheriff, Coast Guard, and ICE. They minutes away from most waters I fish. It's as simple as that. Pull what @BassNJake calls 0 to idiot, and your day will not end well.

We did the same on Port Bay. There'd be a dozen or more rods laying at the end of the dock, and all us kids anxiously waiting for "our" rod to start jiggling. Next day, we'd clean and fry them up. Later, in my early 20s, I'd catch up a bunch on my own, and bring them down to a family of migrant workers that were always camped out at the south end of the bay. I'd give them my catch, on the condition I get to fish and eat with them. Always a good time. This went on for a few seasons, and then they stopped showing up. That was the very best catfish I ever ate.- What bait/lure do you have the most luck with for SMALLMOUTH?

I run mine dry, but you can put a vapor thin layer of drag grease on them if you want it to be smoother. I fish in sub freezing conditions, sometimes grease can get thick, and feel sticky. On a dry set up, it feels a little different when the drag slips. Performance in normal conditions is virtually the same.- Reel Maintenance Tools.....??
