Carp (Cyprinis carpio) and comet goldfish (Carassius auratus) aren't even in the same genus. They are equally related to the tiger barb (Puntigrus tetrazona), a common aquarium species. In other words, same family, but not closely related. No comet goldfish will grow to the size of a koi or common carp. Common or Eurasian carp and koi or Amur carp (Cyprinus rubrofuscus) aren't even the same species, though are closely related and can probably hybridize.
  2. This is by far the best degreaser I've found. https://rotundacleaning.com/rotunda-store/perfect-solution
  3. Beautician grade acetone is the cleanest drying solvent I've found.
  4. iTunes and SeriousXM.
  5. Are we talking about a man made impoundment?
  6. Looking for ideas, as I will be dedicating a small portion of my basement to consolidating my gear. Right now, it's just stacked up in a corner and on a table. I'd like to see more detail of your ceiling rack, as that might be the best option. My only concern would be dust. I'd also like to be able to store rigs with the reels attached. Any ideas are welcome.
  7. Mine goes on every trip, just for the flag. I feel it helps with visibility in the daytime.
  8. I really like sushi, certain Italian American dishes, and really just about anything fried. L:ately I've ben on a gyro kick. There's a Lebanese place near work that has a really good one.
  9. It could, but mine is in the back, and it might be distracting if it was in front of me. A headlamp works better for me.
  10. USCG would poopoo the colored nav lights. It's a dumb idea anyway since other larger boats will see you as a power boat underway. Ask for a Visi-pole. They're great.
  11. Keep in mind they're metabolism is increased exponentially, so there needs to be an incredible amount of food to support the growth.
  12. There's a warm water discharge very close to me on Lake Ontario. I used to fish it as a teen. After 9/11, you can't get anywhere near it. Fishing was ridiculous there. Cast after cast, smallmouth and rock bass on.
  13. The only line I would ever remove at the end of a season would be mono or copoly. Often, that gets refreshed more often. Braid and fluoro have a much longer usable life. I have braid on one reel that has to be a decade old. I be gone 5 seasons with fluoro with no ill effects.
  14. I used to do around 250+ a year when I ran my business. You get pretty quick with practice.
  15. I can do most Shimano, Daiwa, and Doyo platforms with my eyes shut. Other brands I have to pay attention, though they all pretty similar with minor twists.
  16. Line refresh and reel cleaning almost never coincide, thank goodness.
  17. Did you inject yours with baby seal tears? Worked like NO2.
  18. There's quite a few companies making boats with main propulsion from electricity. Like always, expense, range and weight are the hurdle. There's already high speed EV luxury boats and ski boats. It's only a matter of time.
  19. Wow, that sounds crazy. Glad you're alright.
  20. Simms makes a really good gore-tex fold over 1/2 finger mitten.
  21. Raven makes micro swivels that pass through guides without issue and will allow you to use uni knots. I've caught many double digit trout employing them in my float rig, which includes a 4# Seaguar Gold leader.
  22. I only had three. Jeez! Ask for it with "no toys." Same way I order tequila. dang rookies.
