Combo Suffix 832 w/flouro leader
Good point! I use a heavier leader with lighter hooks if I'm near wood or dock pilings. I'd rather bend the light hook out and retie. If it's rocky stuff, I'll probably have to retie or trim the leader, so a little lighter, where a snag will break off near the hook is a better. It's never a 100% science, but that's my plan.

How To Use A Keitech Swing Impact
I'm sure it will work. I generally use a non action bait on a scrounger, since the head adds the wobble. But I don't see why it wouldn't work well with a action tail bait.

Combo Suffix 832 w/flouro leader
I've been using 20# 832 yellow with a leader on this rod for a few years now. One of my favorite setups for general finesse fishing, where you need to strength in the system to deal with weeds, or other cover. I always use an Alberto know. Uni-Uni has failed me. The knot works for those that use it, until it fails. Like any other knot, it's usually the person tying them, so always take that with a grain a salt. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/pinnacle-DHC5-performa-review.html

Roll Call - Hobie Pro Angler Owners!
Let's see some pics. I'm looking for rigging ideas. I'm no rookie when it comes to rigging (this will be about the dozenth boat I'll rig up), but I always like to see what others have come up with.

Wide roomy yak?
Space, maybe. Definitely more organized than most. Stability, eh, there's tons of boats out there as stable. But the main way to compete is price. Hobie are a premium brand, and priced much higher than most other kayaks, and rightly so. They are the Bentley of the kayak world. Consequently, there's a ton of sweet design features built in that you notice more and more as you sit and fish from one. They are the best of the best. Mirage Drive is almost an expectation from a boat of this caliber.

Kasting Kings Fortis Anyone spool it up?
Braid is so "over-engineered," I really haven't found any I truly hated. Well, not any more than I already hate the necessary evil of using it, lol. About the only ones I've tried, I didn't like were the really "soft bodied" ones. Power Pro 8 carrier line was one. Too soft and slippery for me. Report back with anything that might seem useful to others. I get set in my ways, but this forum has taught me there's many more ways to skin a cat, gear included.

Diehard Shimano user....heading to the darkside?
There's a darker side....centrepinning. Look it up. Even the spin fishers look down on us, lol.

Shimano to Daiwa is more like visiting the crater next door.

porized glasses
Costas will porize your wallet. I generally just go and get $25 glasses from DSG, Gander, or other outdoor place. So long as they're polarized, you be fine.

Senko replacement
Nothing works like the original. Some house brands are downright terrible. I won't mention names since someone will be offended by which ones I think stink. A couple brands I've use that work well are SK Ocho, and the Yum version.

Gut Feeling
A Christian rejects 2,999 religions, atheist rejects 2,999 + 1. Not really that far apart from that perspective, lol. Interesting point on gender and intuition. I think there are gender differences in what we observe, but I don't think it's evolutionary. Rather programmed through dogmatic patterns in cultural upbringing. I also think women have a bit more of the "self preservation" intuition thing going on, since they by and large have traditionally been tasked with rearing children. What's this got to do with fishing? I dunno, but when my lady says fish there, we do it...more often than not, she's right. Where's the science there? I wish I knew.

How To Use A Keitech Swing Impact
Often, older threads are archived, and not available to the search or sort function. With upgrades to forum software, we've been able to allow these functions to "look" further back, without a hit on performance. There's a plethora of information in old threads, and we wanted to have the best access available to all, even if you don't have a link to the old thread, as is the case with the sticky lists of all time great threads.

Kasting Kings Fortis Anyone spool it up?
Moved it for you. I haven't tried Fordis, but I have used their standard braid. Reminds me of OG Suffix four-carrier braid. Decent enough. Like most braids, I'm using way over strength, 50# for it's diameter, and don't really need that much strength, so breaking is not an issue. Knots work fine, handles well.

all purpose line
It's little more like standard nylon mono. I would compare it to Suffix Siege or Siglon F, though a bit more manageable. I did a bit of centrepinning with 6# - no catches - and I liked it. The only drawback, if you want to call it that, is it only comes in clear. I prefer high vis orange or pink, so I can follow my drift, and others can see it and not cross my line. The real test is when I use it for chucking spoons off the pier. I'm not sure it would be the best for bass, but I have a spool of heavier line suitable for cranking I'm going to try when it warms up. I'm so used to Tatsu for this, it'll take some adjustment.

Bait fish in Shallow Creeks?
They might be running early. Weather lately has everything a little goofy. Was in the mid 60s up here just this past Saturday.

Storm 360gt
Storm plastic is pretty durable. I can see these being a decent bait without breaking the bank.
