Isnt this region a little big???`
Plus, according to the reporting, very few members actually use the forum categories as an entry point. The View New Content and personalized streams are what almost all prefer, except in a couple cases like Off Topic and Flea Market. As a mod, more sub forums is the last thing I want to see.

Speed
Chine walk. Prevent it with steering input. Important note, do not lift when chine walk starts. Trim down until it stops, then lift. If you just lift, the bow may grab at a weird angle, causing some bad things to happen. Lame! LOL.

How do you fish topwater frogs on a baitcaster?
You pretty much can get away with three conbos to cover most anything. A 7'ish MH or H, fast casting rod with braid. A medium extra fast 6' to 6-8 with mono or copolymer, and a medium fast spinner, main spool with fluoro, backup spool with 15-20# braid. No one is saying turn pro, get 20 rods, and unlimited access to lines. Just trying to get new guys over the learning curve. Mea culpa.

How do you fish topwater frogs on a baitcaster?
I would never fish a buzzbait or a crankbait on braid. Most people's problems with frogs stem from using the wrong rod and line. A MH/F or H/F rod with braid is pretty much a must. This is one case where you cannot fit a square peg into a round hole. You can usually purchase extra spools from the manufacturer - that's what I did when I did a lot of shore fishing. Then you can carry 2-3 rigs, but have twice the versitilty. Then why the focus on a "cranking rod"? Makes no sense to me. Get a stiff, heavy power rod with a fast action if you want to fish frogs. A cranking rod isn't in the zip code of a frogging rod. There are very few similarities. You don't have to be a pro to get it right, but don't ask for advice, if you insist that what you're using is fine. It's not, why else would you ask for help? I mean, we're trying to help you, and you're shooting down all the best practices being suggested for frogs.

Isnt this region a little big???`
It's pretty easy to preface a title with the state or area you want to use. I've been all over the "northeast," as defined in the description, and really there's not much difference between the states, just the timing of seasons and their patterns.

Wrong rod, and line. Any heavy/fast rod with 50# braid should work fine with that bait. Frogs, buzzbaits, and cranks have very little crossover, in terms of rod type, and line type used with each. In other words, it's a tall order for one rod to do those three things.

Depends on the frog. You aren't throwing an original or popping Scum Frog on a heavy power casting rig very far. I usually stuff those lighter frogs with scraps of Roboworms (they float) for a bit of extra weight for better casting distance. They tend to pop a little better with the added ballast, too.

What do you use to cut braid?
I have my hemocuts on a T-Reigns leash. Great product!

What do you use to cut braid?
If I could make braid scissors out of zebra mussels, I'd be a millionaire! In the meantime, I use hemocuts. You can find them in most fly shops.

Please eat BASS!
Catch and release vs. catch and eat will always be a heated debate. Some arguments can be driven by geographical location. It's not a big deal to keep a limit of smallies from Erie, but if enough anglers keep a limit from the Susky in PA, and it may actually damage the ecosystem.

Best deep cranking line
One trip to a lecture/demo with a viewing tank, where the speaker is using braid, and you'll change your mind about braid, and how the bow in the line created as the bait dives affects your perception of bites. The bow is considerable, even with small diameters. This was hammered home while watching a local "club pro" talking about the sensitivity of braid. His plug was getting HAMMERED by 2'+ steelhead, and he never felt it. A few sat back, snickered, and braid was never a consideration for deep cranking again. If you have to use it, I recommend making a very long cast, well past your target, with water logged braid. Not saying it's wrong, or won't work, but there's some things to consider, based on my observations.

how to fish tubes for smallies
Pre spawn, I swim them shallow with lots of pops and sweep action from the rod. When they move back out deep, it's a simple slack line drop on a spinning setup and drag on the bottom. I use around a 1/4 oz. tube jig for the shallow stuff and usually around an ounce for the deeper stuff.

alumacraft know for cracks?
I've only ever heard of a Tracker failing at the weld. It was my friends boat, and he was pretty rough on it.
