  1. It's the long framed one, I think. My kid has the short frame, and that would work too. They're two least expensive ones they sell.
  2. Black Lake…ADK and bass fishing.
  3. I just hook it up to a small 12v battery, and work through all the features in the manual while in demo mode. Usually I pop a Star Wars DVD in while I do this. Lol.
  4. I have an NRS "Green Knife." It's perfect for emergencies. Keep it clipped to your PFD.
  5. None of the kayaks I've owned were what I call "flipable," save for the Coosa. That boat would overturn easy. Tarpons can go over too. My C140, Moken 12 and 13, Freedomhawk 12 UL, 12, and 14, Prowler Big Game, and Rides 135, 115 were boats I'd fall out of before they overturn, barring some unusual wave or current. A PFD should just be worn automatically. Not something I did initially, but a rule I've adopted.
  6. If it came with a ring, I replace it with a duo loc. if not, I tie direct. I don't like split rings, but using a snap is not so much about being able to swap. Most of my baits already have snaps on them.
  7. The little guy is new, gonna use it as a tail spinner on a swimbait, lol.
  8. Buy waders that cover a whole joint above what your wading in. Up to the knee, wading pants. Up past the knee, bibs. You should never be ta-tas deep. Whatever brand you get, get the replacement ins/warranty. You'll use it if it's for two years. For this alone, lots of guys up here get the LL Bean with lifetime replacement.
  9. Yeah, there's two different products. One is braided microfilament and the other is fused microfilament. You can tell which is which by checking the box: one is Fireline Braid, the other Fireline Fused. Unless you have box that more than five years or so, when all they had was fused Fireline.
  10. Breathable, nothing else, that way you separate your waterproof layers from insulation layers. There are times when the air is warm, but the water is still cold, so adjust your base layers accordingly. Make sure you wear a wading belt. Unless your dealing with sand and surf, stocking foot is ideal, then you can a pair of wading boots that fit nicely.
  11. Get well soon!
  12. Tufline Supercast was made for this. Love it for this specific situation.
  13. Up here where we have actual licensed guides, the guide doesn't even touch a pole. They're called guides, not fishing partner for hire, lol.
  14. Also, just curious - is this a solution to a *real* problem, or are you just worried? I don't leash my rods or anything for that matter, and I can't remember losing anything. I probably lose more out of the bass boat, lol.
  15. My Avids all float without any additional help. I guess the cork is enough. I avoid as much loose cordage in the kayak as possible. Tangles are a pain, and a safety hazard. Scotty and RAM both make locking rod holders. Yakattack has all the stuff you need to attach them.
  16. 6# Tatsu or Invisx, if that's too much. Otherwise, 15-20# braid, and a leader of your choosing works. For less than 10', I like braid and a leader, more than that, I go with straight fluoro.
  17. I like 8" Recon Worms from Reagetail. What part of it isn't working pads?
  18. Not much out there that's close to it. I love my 5 with SI.
  19. I'll trade one of these for a busted lure any day.
  20. Not saying you're wrong, but I'd skip the pressurized air, and see if just letting it dry naturally works fine without the relube. The air might force water where it shouldn't or normally wouldn't go. Not an absolute, just more my style of less fussing, unless you are rally gonna fuss, then I take the reel down completely, lol. Good to hear yours works fine too.
  21. That's fair. Good deal getting to test it out. You might want to check the spec on WOT for that. Seems like it should be higher. I'm not sure though.
  22. I run a Lazer II with the same spec on my Xpress/115 Merc. Hole shot is not impressive, but acceptable. WOT, properly trimmed, I get around 56 mph with myself and gear, with a 1/4 tank of gas. Get a tach, read your GPS for speed and use a prop slip calculator, that will giv you the true answer.
  23. Yes, I use both, sometimes on the same jig. If you let a rubber jig sit, will open, especially if it's properly hand tied with wire. Arkey style heads are a good all purpose and wood jig, but you might want to try s few other designs.
