Kayak Bass Fishing!
No. I don't put trolling motors on my kayaks.

Kayak Bass Fishing!
Turtle, I've heard some mixed chatter, thou I think some are misinterpreting the effects of current from steady wind, not the annoying effects of those breezy gusts that send a high draft boat spinning, lol. The ATAK should be perfect for that. Got to get back to work, I'm on Conesus right now.

Kayak Bass Fishing!
I have that question posed to them already. I let you know when I hear back.

Kayak Bass Fishing!
Looking at a C140 and an ATAK. According to early reports from staffers that actually got boats, the ATAK is pretty good, though the Commander is one of the best lake boats out there.

Kayak Bass Fishing!
I can't wait to get my new boat. This Coosa is getting on my nerves each trip out. It does float, so they got that design target.

A Series Of Unfortunate Steelheading Events
Not unless you're trolling deep.

Bacon cake, double fudge chocolate with salted caramel. That's chocolate coated caramel drizzled bacon with sea salt on top.

Happy Birthday J Francho
Had a great weekend so far. Here's some pics of my loot so far. Got new pedals and hihat stand for the big kit, liked them so much,I went back for a single pedal for the bebop kit. Got some new bronze for jazz kit as well. Some shirts and shorts rounded out the loot. And a bacon cake. Yes, a bacon cake.

Kayak Bass Fishing!
Nice boat! Feel Free makes a good boat, but don't get s ton of press. I paddled a Moken 12 and a 13 for a season and liked them.

Happy Birthday J Francho
Thanks guys! Three years ago, I had a total mental collapse, turning 40. Turns out 40s are way better than the 30s. This year was about drums and family. Ordered a new custom kit, and a few more doo-dads, and my best lady got me a very expensive and comfortable seat. Later this week, I'll order my kayak and some supplies from Wilderness, so there is some fishing related goodness coming! I'm off all week, and fishing ensues tomorrow. I have some catching up to do in my online tournament. I'm in 5th or 6th with 85" for the best five. Leader is just under 100". I'll get him. Thanks Sam. It is John, and I respond to that. Little John is actually an Al, short for Alec. However my youngest' first name is John, but we use his middle name, Clark. Confused yet?

Where Do You Draw The Line?
Aliens, man it was aliens! Anyway, one thing I'll tell you I think about is the possibility that in clearer water that the fish I'm after might be deeper than I'm used to. Nothing hard set. I know many times when I'm having a tough time, deeper bites come a little easier. It might be in comfortable with that being a Great Lakes/Finger Lakes guy, or its a northern thing -who knows. Deep fish don't seem to have the same temperament as shallow fish. They're steadier, less fickle. I do love a shallow bite though.

6 Foot 6 Inch Heavy?
I use rods from around 6' up to a 15' centrepin rod, and I'm 5'7". My height never factored into it.

That depends on whether you lost your top teef or not.

No, dum-dum! Singular is "toof". More than one (plural for educated folk) is "teef".

Casts Per Bass?
The other night I caught around 30 in a couple hours, but for the first four fish, I was four for four.

Where Do You Draw The Line?
While you were playing with your disc, I caught a delicious bass.

Is 30Lb Braid Overkill
30 works fine on spinning. I generally pick 20# though. I do have one that has 30 on it.

Where Do You Draw The Line?
Yes, all of that is true and I agree with what you say. However, what do I do after I've use my secchi disk and determined it diappeared after 2.3 meters? What am I supposed to do with this? I hear this brought up repeatedly, but I never hear the next sentence. Why did I measure the visibility?

Where Do You Draw The Line?
It's funny becuse I'm often subconciously guilty of the opposite - thinking of clear water lakes as "hard lure" or "moving lure" lakes. It gets stuck in my head that bass can see better, so baits have to be realistic or have a quick retrieve. Totally not true, but goes to show you that any kind of "conventional wisdom" is often a mistake in fishing.
