  1. Chop, try an ElaZtech fluke, and you will change your tune about it being topwater. .
  2. That will work. I use nearly the same gear, except the rod is an LTB, and reel is a Zillion loaded with 12# CXX.
  3. I've been playing for 35 years. Anyone at any level can benefit from a lesson. Music, like fishing, is a path, not a destination.
  4. Stretch? Wet or dry? Treated it untreated? With how much force? What's the measurement - inches of stretch per lb.? How much line? There's many other variables too. Stretch, as its perceived while fishing, is not a linear sensation. Some lines give up a bit with little pressure before locking in. Others are the opposite. Some will deform, or stretch out. These are all characteristics to look at and consider when comparing lines - even from the same material. One thing - sensitivity has more to do with density and how a line transmits vibration. Braid has almost zero stretch, but unless it's held taught has almost zero vibration transmission. Fluorocarbon is on the other end of the spectrum, with its density transmitting vibration on a semi slack line. I found when teaching fishing to kayakers, the ones that felt braid was more sensitive were tip watchers, whereas others were bite feelers.
  5. KO Wobbler 3/4 oz. thanks!
  6. Bass generally ambush from below and behind. Let that figure into your logic when picking which baits to hook. I find most single fish are caught on the center hook, which is also furthest back.
  7. I wouldn't be without a longer one, but I fish in big water and wind.
  8. Paul Roberts does. Look some of his posts up.
  9. It depends on the water. Some places I fish, an east wind greater than a st day 10 mph makes it unfishable. On others it's another direction. Usually I find that where it's the most miserable to control your boat and fish is where the biters are.
  10. Next thing you know, they will be putting subliminal messages in the drive in theatre screens.
  11. Pretty sure no one in this thread is a professional angler. I'm not sure there have been enough professional anglers to clearly define a career path along with all the prerequisites - like education - that go with it. It's like asking if you need guitar lessons to become a professional musician. Yes, but maybe no. Or maybe yes. Just fish, pro angler is not a reasonable goal, so you'll want a fall backin case that doesn't happen.
  12. Nice! That's pretty much how I fish them in fall when they stack up in the lake. Only difference I'm in a boat. The steel follow the browns on their spawning run, looking for a cheap meal. https://youtu.be/uqCLApHsqzs
  13. I was late to the jig party. Once you get it, you got it.
  14. Last year when I cleaned my boat up after winter storage, I found a JDM Zillion I'd forgotten about.
  15. I haven't worn a watch since the mid 90s. The cell phone sort did that in.
  16. The more they stay the same. I still use rabbit ears, and yes CBS always requires and adjustment. I find that there are less breaks, but each is longer. At least it seems that way on network rabbit ear TV.
  17. Why would anyone have slack in their line?
  18. A longer rod won't fix much. Sounds like there's sonething wrong with either the tackle or your fundamentals.
  19. Looks like a Zell Pop. I hate it when I forget what one of my best fish catchers name is.
  20. Here you go, honerable mention badge.
  21. This post left a bad taste in my mouth.
  22. Today, Joni Mitchell Shadows & Light and Coltrane's A Love Supreme. Practiced with the kid tonight, so it was all easy stuff by the Police.
