Drop Shot Tip
I've fished the Erie Canal from shore too. This is a pretty good idea for there.

rules limiting co angler gear
Let them bring it all, if it fits in their area. I guarantee they never do it again. I recall bringing 6 rods and it being a royal PITA. Five was usually a good limit. Again, if the gear fits where the non sits, why does the boater care? As a boater, my answer was always, "I don't care what you bring, it just can't be in my way."

And ramp angle changes this. I like to note how deep the trailer is when the boat just starts to float. Back in a little shallower when you go to retrieve.

How important is rod weight to you?
Enough. Walk away from your keyboards.

The true world record
Some guy that opened the gate at 6 am and a fish that may potentially weigh more than all other swimming around get the record. No fishing necessary.

Pitching is Officially Flipping Forevermore!
I I do a flip cast about every 4-7 casts when drifting through a flat in the dead of summer. I'm mostly pitching to targets and then I see one I missed that's close. Reel up to the right length and flip that thing before it's gone.

This is going to take a while
Go through the manual in demo mode instead. I know Garmin and Humminbird the best, but I can even deal with Raymarine. Most of the controls are common sense, but having the manual with you will let you look up the whys wlfor certain settings. Then do your session in a quiet cove on the water.

Dropshot Leader Breakage Below Knot
I think it also defeats one of the strengths of the rig: the direct connection from the tip of the rod to the hook. Save for a jig, few other weighted rigs do that.

Dropshot Leader Breakage Below Knot
I've heard of it for some time now. I don't like the idea at all.

Get through it! All the best.

Dropshot Leader Breakage Below Knot
I prefer straight 6# fluoro. It's much more sensitive and more natural presentation.

Which do you think is the better fluro to use as a leader for finesse (Ned) fishing rivers - Sniper or Seagur Blue?
Yes, it's fine. Seaguar is better, plus they support this forum.

Pitching is Officially Flipping Forevermore!
Another instance of a pro not having much influence over my fishing or what I call things. I think this started with someone saying they were flipping the bait into cover, not actually making a flip cast. Now it's just misappropriation. I will correct anyone, anywhere, any time.

When I use a leader, it's always Seaguar Blue or Gold Label.
