  1. These two deals are usually on the same rods. I run MLXF and MXF power based on weight. You should be good.
  2. Junk fishing is rotating through multiple baits, literally a few casts at a time, to get any kind of bite. Sometimes a pattern emerges, sometimes not. I don't see an inherent link at all.
  3. Eight units? Jeez.
  4. Yep, I have one and compared to my older LTB they are crisper and lighter.
  5. I use a fast wrist snap set. It's not very hard, but lightning fast. For hooks it's whatever size fits the bait you're using. So that could mean as small as a #4 or as large as a 2/0. Most often I use #2 Owner Mosquito.
  6. It's just like the ocean.
  7. Not really, Lake Ontario is 4.7 MILLION acres. There's only so much exploring, and you basically just start around 20' and work deeper in summer.
  8. I fish Lake Ontario for smallies from a kayak. My spots are about 1/4 from shore and I use one or two baits on a drop short, or a jigging spoon. Maybe that's a outlier, but it isn't junk fishing.
  9. Those Bantams were smaller and much lighter than the Shimano built Lew's reels of the time.
  10. Ardent tried to market that idea over a decade ago with their XS line of US made reels. They were very heavy and used a dated form factor that just didn't appeal.
  11. Everything in threes. My grandfather stressed this point. It's all over anything natural.
  12. Leader material is tougher than reel fill line. It's preferred because it doesn't limit the action of the baits like steel.
  13. There have been a few recent reels. I'm have a Pinnacle from a few years ago that has a similar feature. It a button on the top that you press to renegade the gears. Fairway had hopping bars up to a few years ago on reels that did this. I have a couple TD-X HSDL flipping reels from 15 or so years ago that are meant for pitching.
  14. Take a look at St. Croix Victory series.
  15. I would not want to use any kind of moderate action for those baits. Something 7' M/F or XF would be better for that style hook. I use a SC Bass X 7-1 MF.
  16. That makes sense. Ok, so that probably means the spool reengages the gears when you let off the thumb bar.
  17. I think we're good here.
  18. It could be worse, I'm getting Ram ads in my banner.
  19. You probably just set off the average dude alarms like I did. Apparently they think we all got problems.
  20. We have no control over what goes in those. It's based on your detected demographic determined by your browsing habits. I think I got one like that and reported it and I don't get them anymore. https://adssettings.google.com/whythisad
  21. I keep all my Ragetail baits in the clam shell. Those all go in a speed bag.
