  1. Ah,I know what you mean. I was just curious - many reels have a conventional ball bearing pack that goes right on top of the one way to keep the crank shaft aligned. Bad break, rupturing that housing. Usually I see the inner tube or the plastic go before anything.
  2. Side note, do you mean Instant Anti Reverse by ISR" or something else? One way roller bearings have no race, just the roller and cage assembly and an inner tube. So, I'm curious as to what part you broke?
  3. Well, if you don't fish, you'll never have a chance at catching a record, and you'd never know the potential anyway. I say fish. You aren't going to catch a record. If you do, you broke it. Go ahead and prove it, alive or dead - whatever the rules dictate. You may or may not kill the fish just by fishing for it. Potential, what could have been, yada yada… if I worried about that stuff, I wouldn't get out of bed.
  4. Go to the website, they should have anything still available there. Just follow the process online - it works very well; used it several times.
  5. I've used a seven footer for years. Just got a 7-11 that I can't wait to try.
  6. No, you still need your thumb. It's not backlash proof.
  7. You should only have a thin film on the teeth that you can feel, but barely see. Your issue is probably too much grease.
  8. How can LI record be the same as the current state record? Did get finally annex it from upstate, lol. But seriously, I'll need a link or something.
  9. The Ronk, on the Internet! Oh boy. You should hook with some LI locals. They can get you cooking on that lake. It's definitely not a "by the book" situation, from what I hear. You won't find a ton online, but there's plenty folks that know. NYBASS would be a start. LI guys are typically, and understandably tight lipped online.
  10. The three big fish that we caught and put in my neighbor's pond were uncatchable with hook and line. You could hand feed them live frogs, though.
  11. I do a shot of it after every trip. Keeps my lines nice and spiffy.
  12. I have a ton of rods, reels, lines, baits, hooks, sinkers, etc. - I even have two boats! However, most of my fishing is pretty simple. Top to bottom, shallow to deep, what gets through the cover at hand…what works in the water I'm in right then probably eliminates 50% of my baits. Depth and speed cut that half in half again twice. From the there, the fish decide what works.
  13. 50# works for me for just about everything braid and bait casting related.
  14. Florida, Bacarac... We're talking about UL, though 6# hardly qualifies as UL. More like light.
  15. Could be. These are LaFrois' buildings in Henrietta.
  16. Looks like they're also getting the gutters. You're not that far off, A-Jay!
  17. Maybe this will help. There's three casts: flip, flip punch, and pitch.
  18. I'm watching guys de-ice the HVAC systems on the roof here at work.
  19. Livestock manager at a tropical fish importer. Drummer in a band. Current job, Business Intelligence Consultant.
  20. Id say that's quite frequently. I have line on a drop shot setup - 6# Invisx - that's three seasons old. It gets used a ton. I treat with KVD L&L after every trip. My advice: get a better quality line.
  21. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/reel-gear-ratios.html http://www.bassresource.com/beginner/big-fish-in-ponds.html There's a ton of info in our articles section. That's a good start. Though it comes down to preference, there's a few rules of thumb.
