What Is It?
Japan? You're thinking of red arowana. Different species. Red are from Asia, silver from South America.

What Is It?
Someone dumped an arrowana that outgrew their tank.

Is The "overhead" Cast Sacrilege ?
I never thought about what cast you can and can't do. No one has ever told me what's right and wrong, either. It's pretty silly, if you think about it.

Lefty And Righty
I learned on a knuckle buster then a spincast. My first spinning reel was a right side retrieve, or commonly called a "lefty model" since you were supposed to cast it with your left. Problem was I cast and reeled with my right. I eventually switched, and learned to reel with my left, which made buying reels easier since you couldn't switch sides like nowadays, and lefties were a special order.. Fast forward to baitcasting, I had a right hand retrieve, and that worked fine for moving baits, but when pitching worms, it seemed like it would be easier to get a lefty, since I only pitch right handed. I only cast two handed these days, and my right hand is always above my left. My baitcasters are about a 50-50 split of right to left. All spinning reels are set up right handed, with the handle on the left.

Is There A "6 Lb Bass" Joke/myth Used On Beginners?
It's usually 10 pounders where I fish. It's not hazing, just guys without scales.

Buying A Truck And Trading In.
I'm not sure you can make those assumptions..... This is how people get tricked when buying a car. It's also why we need the full story. So far, no one's answered my question. Something doesn't make sense. This stuff makes my head spin, lol.

Must Have Lures?
You think you're the only one that reads these threads? For every one guy that posts a question, there's 40-50 lurkers, wondering the same thing.

Knots
If your mainline is crimped, retie. You failed. I know that sounds mean, but it's the absolute truth.

My Most Modified Reel
Try the ABEC 7 Ceramic Hybrids from Hawgtech or Smooth Drags. Way more bang for the buck than Boca. Quality is no different.

Must Have Lures?
"Must have" really depends on what and where you fish. A general selection, from top, middle, to bottom: Hollow frogs, spook type baits, poppers, buzzbaits, toads. Spinnerbaits, casting spoons, chatterbait/bladed jigs, squarebills, paddle tail swimbaits, swimjigs, traps, suspending jerk baits. Diving crankbaits, plastics and terminal tackle for T/C/Jika/drop shot rigs, jigs, senkos, wacky jigs and finesse worms, jigging spoons. That's pretty much my entire tackle selection, BTW.

Knots
The problem most have with tying good knots is that they cinch the knot from the mainline side. Properly, you snug the knot from both sides, and cinch the knot from the tag end.

Buying A Truck And Trading In.
I thought the truck's price was 43,500. So, you're saying the truck's price is $50,900? Even so, never mind the hit on your credit rating for the repossession, huh? Buying a car: What's the price? What are the fees and taxes? How much am I putting as a down payment? How much is being financed? What is the length of loan? What is the interest? I stay out of the trade in a car not paid for part. I'll sell that thing on the side, pay off the loan and any extra can go toward the down payment. Anything outside of ti, I walk, and call bs on the dealer. No surprises, no weird math.

Tennessee Handle
42, but I don't use it for bass fishing. Bottom right of the image. I just use electrical tape to attach the reel.

Knots
Learn the Alberto first. Blood knot is rarely used in bass fishing. It's best for connecting two lines, same diameter, and same material.

Knots
Why don't you look in the thread I linked to? I use a Uni, Palomar, Alberto, Improved Cinch, Arbor, Spider Hitch, Triple Surgeon's, Nail-less, and blood knots for my fishing. Which one is best? All of them, in the right spot. Learn to tie a few knots. You aren't whipping out a Palomar on a 6" bait with three sets of trebles. So, use your cinch knot. Or learn the improved cinch. Maybe try a Uni knot. See what holds better for you.

Cork Or Eva Grips?
I prefer cork or burl. If it's foam, it better not be that squishy stuff from the 80s.

Buying A Truck And Trading In.
So, he pays the loan off, and still has a 50,900 loan. So they still got the Fusion for free, if I understand correctly. He better check the math on this one. All said and done, the truck cost him 50,900 + interest.

No, both knots were wetted with saliva before cinching. Paul just can't tie a good Palomar.
