  1. We might hit 80 today. So much for spring.
  2. No, it is definitely necessarily bass. You must realize what site you're on, what the focus may be. It's perfectly fine to talk about salt fishing, but don't assume anyone's response to account for your specific situation unless you post in the Other Species category. Glad for that.
  3. This is awful. So sorry for your loss.
  4. Up here there are shorelines where you'd be in 30+ FOW just 20' from shore. It was around 12' deep off the end of our dock with a steady drop further out to 25', and I'd throw deep divers all day long. It might not be like that everywhere, but it isn't impossible either. Something to think about, and maybe check the depth maps where you're fishing.
  5. I would not have reacted the way you did. Poor behavior on both sides, since you ask.
  6. Leave them in the original package and you'll be fine.
  7. Same advice as above: contact Minn Kota support.
  8. 9/10 crankbait issues are from reeling too fast. Slow down and you have more time to react when the bait comes in contact with something. If it's a weed, a little slack and a snap of the tip. If it's wood, give the bait some slack and time to rise before reeling up.
  9. I can't think of what difference a handle would make on drag.
  10. You used this product once and it cracked your boat? I've thought this product was a bad idea.
  11. I haven't had any issues with either. So far, I've only seen it react with plastisol baits. Long term, I've seen it discolor a Plano utility box.
  12. Interesting tidbit: what can protect you from this radiation? Turns out paper, or even your own skin is an effective barrier. I'm not sure that the tungsten carbide weights for fishing even have any thorium, or how anyone could tell. Really interesting first post.
  13. Two things: If you use SonarChart, maps are updated constantly by users. It's in the lower right. If you use the mobile Boating app, you can get the GPS coordinates.
  14. Same as everything else: 4 in a X pattern. Zero spool tension.
  15. @OldBlueEyes can you explain why you need to do this? What's the goal?
  16. It isn't about better or worse than other lines. It's about application. In other words, when is an impact wrench better than a hammer type of thing. Braid works great in weeds and is awesome for hollow froggin', but is terrible for treble hook baits and has little resistance to abrasion. I don't care for leaders, so I hardly ever use braid in clear water, and especially not for light line presentations.
  17. On slack line, yes. I guarantee that you are not feeling fish take your jig on the fall, I know because I've seen fish violently take my jig right in front of me. The ONLY indication was some tiny bit of movement of the braid at the water's surface. If I wasn't watching, I would have NEVER known it. Use mono or fluoro, and you feel the tick.
  18. 50# Smackdown or 17# Tatsu. Skip the leader if at all possible.
  19. That would be true for tip watchers and taught line. Fluorocarbon is dense and transmits vibrations that you feel better. Surely you've felt your jig hit bottom while on a slack line? People that claim braid has ANY sensitivity (it doesn't) are tip watchers.
  20. I think there's a Seinfeld reference there, lol. Yeah, we were both off while she was pregnant and then stayed off during lockdown, which is completely the opposite of many of our friends. We now enjoy a drink once in a while. I'll probably go off again this summer. If anyone is interested, I have fairly decent list of craft brewed NA beers that are amazing.
  21. You are correct, the higher temps produce the bitterness and fruitiness. Heads up, some of the ones I recommended are VERY high ABV. Juice Force is 9.5, so it's a sipper not a chugger.
  22. True ale is beer, but without hops. Oddly, these days ales have more hops than anything else, and are synonymous with beer - i.e. India Pale Ale (IPA). There are a TON of brewers making bad ales out there. Just being bitter isn't enough to set you apart. Look at New Belgium, Sierra Nevada, Naked Dove, Great Lakes, Southern Tier for some good examples of modern ales. NB Voodoo Ranger Juice Patrol is one of my current favorites.
