  1. Yep, I like 20# braid on a spinning reel with a 3' long 10# CXX leader.
  2. I prefer an XF taper, but F will do. That's a big hook, and getting into the backbone fast aids in sticking the hook set.
  3. Frogs don't, any MH/F or H/F rod will suffice. In fact, a 7' MH/F will cover 70-90% of most fishing situations. You could even drop to a M/F, if cover is sparse. Finesse drop shotting, cranking - especially deep cranking, big swimbaits are a few that require special gear.
  4. I used one up until a year ago. From a business standpoint, it was the cheapest to operate.
  5. They make a reel called the Liger. It's pretty much my favorite animal.
  6. If it's gonna be one, it'll have to be a jig and worm rod... Dobyns 744C Champ Ex. w/Daiwa Zillion. I'd have two spools, one with 15# CXX, and the other with 50# Power Pro.
  7. For pan fish? 4# Trilene XL has worked for generations.
  8. Nice job! The scale is right, that's a four. - really nice fish Pictures and fisherman always lie. Scales usually don't. If you have doubts, you can easily verify it with a known weight.
  9. I have several rod/reels that I throw a spinnerbait on. For general use and burning, a LTBC70MF and Zillion 7.1:1. Close target, sniper style an AVC62MXF and Alphas. General use, and probably my favorite, AVC68MXF and Alphas. For really heavy baits or deep stroking, an AVC70MHF and TD-X. Line is generally 10-15 lb. P-Line CXX.
  10. Tracfone.
  11. Privileges can be taken away.
  12. Just looked it up. That thing is overpriced. Those dorky kid phones start at $50! My son's Samsung has a slide out qwerty keyboard, color screen, and anything he needs, and it looks like any other function phone. I think it was $5 after purchasing 200 minutes. Comes with triple minutes for life. Add in the buy 60 get 60 free, and it's $20 for 240 minutes. That lasts him 3-4 months. And that's with his mother texting him constantly.
  13. Embarrassment as a parenting tool.... Straight up setting boundaries, and educating your child about the PRIVILEGE it is to have the phone is an easier route. Worked for me.
  14. That's funny. In my boxes the "swimmers" have the duolock already hanging from their noses.
  15. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Here's one for you. Accidental mortality led to this great photo op! Clark was only two weeks old:
  16. That's a solid color here as well. Same conditions.
  17. Hit the thing on the head, get bait back, make stew.
  18. One thing I noticed, there were payphones at school when I grew up. That, and you could ALWAYS use the office telephone if necessary. That isn't the case anymore. My son's school has a payphone....at the 7-11 about a mile away. It's just far more convenient than having him borrow someone else's cell phone to call me when he's staying after. I will say I find it annoying that the thing isn't allowed in class, but they don't provide access to a public telephone.
  19. Kent.....an Elite event is four days of fishing, each day with a five fish limit. Twenty fish, indeed.
  20. I like to use a frog with a lot of contrast so I can tell if it disappeared or not.
  21. I used to try and save and reuse them, but lost patience, lol.
  22. Take a look at Edge Systems...worked marvels on my GMC. I believe they have hacks for the Ford. You can also tell them what upgrades you've done, and they'll send you a custom program.
  23. Zillions went from $229 to $319 with no improvements/changes. Where's the outrage? lol.
