  1. You cast by throwing the bait, and let line uncoil off the can, like a spinning reel.
  2. Wrap line around a tin can.
  3. Actually, yes there are books that list baits and what depths they dive to under certain circumstances. In this case, more line won't make the bait go deeper. Only stay in the zone longer. If you want a bait to run deeper, add weight, either to the line or the bait itself or use weighted line.
  4. I'm not condoning violence either. I'm just saying, I wouldn't have been so calm. Is he a bigger man than I? Maybe. Just telling the truth.
  5. Poor man's spinning reel. We caught flounder off the docks in Ocean City, Maryland with can rigs. It was fun.
  6. You need a heavier action rod. I know plenty of people that use heavy power inshore rods, a 4000 series reel, and 30 to 50# braid with great success.
  7. Buddies, Shorty Spoons, Lil' Cleos, Zara Spooks, are few that still get a place in my tackle boxes.
  8. Get the Cardiff. I use a Calcutta 200 with custom build on the LTB version of that blank. There's one or two baits in my box that I can come close to spooling the reel with 25# CXX. Otherwise, it's fine with most baits, including the ones you mentioned.
  9. Works for me, but only under specific circumstances.
  10. Just think if that was a kid in that kayak.... Those two guys need to be off the water permanently.
  11. That's what we called "spinning out." some baits didn't troll well.
  12. You can play with that GL2 if you ever jump on my boat. EVERYONE that has used it has been surprised. It's right there with an equally priced Avid, and a very comfortable handle to boot. Laugh at it all you want. The redesign was a good one.
  13. I don't care how old they are. I would not have been so nice. Get this, those two old fools loaded that boat on a trailer and DROVE ON THE ROAD. Yeah, look out for that mess. They can't avoid a collision at ten miles per hour, imagine their ineptitude at highway speeds.
  14. LOL.... Time for LEDs and a new harness?
  15. From someone that has used both, it's pretty silly comparing the two. they're not in the same zip code. The Avid and LTB are pretty close, but the Mojo is way down on the totem pole. I actaully don't recommend the Mojo series. Not impressed at all. They were a huge disappointment to me, not at all what I expected, having a dozen or so Avids.

Are they also aware of what you did to that fish in your avatar?
  17. About 10 feet. I hold the spool in my left hand, and pull line off it three times.

Hunting and fishing don't equate, man. There is no option to release a hunted animal. There is for fishing. If you want to catch and keep bass you catch on a hook and line, it's your right once you purchase a fishing license. I'm pretty sure spearing bass is a no-no in NY.
  19. I use a roll cast or a sidearm.
  20. All this lying for a $95 check. Pathetic piece of trash.

Fish genetics aren't the same as deer genetics. A 5 lb. bass was one of a million that made it.
  22. From somewhere else....
  23. I start with three arms lengths. When it gets below 2', I tie a new one on.
