What is the best Mono, CoPolymer, Fluoro?
I've been using Suffix Siege 12 & 14lb. green mono for years, and it's hands down one of the best mono's out there in my book. It casts a mile, great sensitivity, & very durable. For copoly, I've only used AN40 Silver thread, and it's decent... haven't used it in a while though, because the suffix seems a lot better. Never used Floro.

Adhesives on fishing rods, what do I use to glue cork to the blank??
I stay away from gorilla glue, it actually expands while it sets. Epoxy is the way to go (tuff coat)

Original Carrot Stix vs Kistler Magnesium vs Loomis Mossyback vs BPS J/M Elite.
BTW....... don't waste your money on a Carrot Stix rod. They are snap happy. I tried the originals first & broke two in a row on the hookset, and then tried the 21 Carrot Gold Stix and the finish was peeling off after the 1st use. (I also snapped that one on a hookset as well. I returned that one to BassPro for a St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass rod. Well worth it

Original Carrot Stix vs Kistler Magnesium vs Loomis Mossyback vs BPS J/M Elite.
I fish the JM-Elite rods as well, and they are light, tough, and sensitive. However, as stated before, no St. Croix on that list??? I have 4 JM-Elites, 1 Falcon Expert, and 3 St. Croix rods that I fish with. A Legend Xtreem, Legend Tournament, and an Avid. My JM-Elites & Falcon clean up on Cranks, Swimbaits, Topwaters, & Spinnerbaits, but my St. Croix's are all used for soft-plastics only. You can't beat the feel & feedback you get from a St. Croix. Try one and you'll be hooked

New Revo STX.... LUBE?
I've got a new Revo STX that I've used about 6 times, and it is a little rough on the retrieve already. I can feel it slightly in the handle when I crank, but it is slightly audible as well. It just feels a bit gritty. Visually, the worm gear looks a bit dirty, could that cause what I'm feeling & hearing on the retrieve, or is it most likely in the main gear / pinion area? BTW: the reel still casts a country mile

Curado E7 Brakes
Just bought my first SHIMANO reel!!!.... Curado E7! I'm used to Revo STX's (mag. brakes) How do y'all run your brake pins? Just lookin to see whats popular.... gonna use it to throw a 3.5" Lake Fork Magic Live Shad swim bait with a 1/16oz E.W.G. hook with a 6'3" Med. rod. Looking forward to using a reel that weighs less than my bullet proof Revo STX's !!!

TOP FISH YOU'VE NEVER CAUGHT
1. Peacock Bass 2. Walleye 3. Pike 4. Muskie 5. River Cats

berkley chigger craw or yum craw bug ???
I've found the chigger craw to be very effective when t-rigged with a 4-0 EWG hook and a 1/4oz - 3/8oz weight. Also, great as a jig trailer
-
How many rods do you really need?
I'd say 3-4 baitcast setups. rod 1 - cranks rod 2 - cranks (I crank a lot) rod 3 - worm & jig / swimbaits rod 4 - spinnerbait / chatterbait Those would be more than enough to cover the lakes here in North Central Texas

Line for jigs/t-rigs

Texas Basser Here!
Howdy All. Been reading here for over a year, but just got my start on posting! Glad to be able to contribute! I fish mainly around the Dallas/Ft. Worth area lakes, but fish East Texas waters often. (like Lake Fork, and Bob Sandlin). I've been fishing for at least 15 years, but have become serious about targeting black bass in the last 5 years or so. Happy Posting! Matt
