By the way I am using a spinning reel if that helps.

Currently I only have one rod and reel and I was wondering what testline would be the best overall. My reel says that it is can take 165 yards for 6 pound testline, 145 for 8 and 120 for 10. Does this mean that I can't use testline over 10 pounds?

One more question, My reel says it can take 8,10 or 12 pound test line. What would be the best to use?

Also I always use clips so I don't have to retie my lure. Is it okay to use them with crank baits?

How do you guys remember how deep a crank bait runs?

I have never fished crank baits before but I would like to start soon and I was wondering what I should buy. I want something very easy to use because I have no experience. Also I would like it to be pretty inexpensive. So basically I am asking, what would be a good beginner crank bait?

Can someone explain the difference between the super spook and the regular one. I know they come in different colors but is there any thing else?

I fish primarily from the shore but I do use a boat some times. The water depth really varies a lot.

I plan on purchasing some new lures soon. Whenever I look for them there are so many different sizes. What I am asking is if there is a general weight for bass lures such as 1/4 oz or 1/2oz.

I am planning on fishing a private 60 acre lake near Frankfort, what phase do you think the fish would be in?

I did a little bit of research and it seems as though fish spawn in early May in northern Kentucky. I am planning to go there from April 10-14. Does this mean I won't have much luck with fishing?

Also does anyone know how the weather would be during that time?

My family is thinking of going on a little fishing vacation in early/mid April. We live in Michigan. We were thinking of going to either Kentucky or southern ohio. I was wondering if you knew of any good places to go. Our two main criteria are that it has to be warmer than Michigan and pretty good fishing. Thanks
