I don't fly fish but, I have a good deal of flies of all sorts.(over 100+ midges alone) I am trying to sell the stuff for a very good price. I have pictures that I can send. I also have a St. Coix 5/6 WT and two White River reels. All priced to go. I need this stuff gone.

I am not a fly fisherman but, I came into a bunch of fly tackle. I need to sell it. I also have a nice selection of trout tackle. I will post on the flear market tomorrow. I have a St. Croix Pro Graphite 4/8 WT rod that is practically new. I have pictures of the flies that I will post.

I don't fly fish but, my fishing partner does. I attended an annual event in Annapolis, MD called TIEFEST. The lengendary Lefty Kreh was there doing a talk and casting demonstrations. 92 years old. These fly fisherman have a passion for this fishing "art" I know a number of customers that love to fly fish for bass and it dawned on me that on BR, fly fishing for bass is never really mentioned. Do any of you fly fish for bass?

My opnion is that no rod and reel is worth losing your life over. Stay in the boat.

I went back today to purchase a fly fishing lot, and a St. Croix Avid Surf Rod. I was only there enough time to pay the man and load my stuff. Fly tackle he has no knowledge or use for (neither do I but, my partner does) St. Croix Pro Graphite 4/5 WT rod. Four other lesser rods. Six fly reels and HUNDREDS of flies from tiny speck fly (that looked like tiny insects that I had to put my glasses on to handle) to bass poppers and salt water streamers. He said if he finds other fly stuff in the garage it belongs to me because as far as he is concerned, I bought all he had. The Avid Surf Rod was $100

I had a friend that hunted a property. The payment for being able to hunt was that you had to come down during tobacco season (what ever that was) and help cut and hang tobacco. He said it was some of the hardest work he'd ever done. That was his last season hunting that property...

I promised myself I was going in, giving him money for a reel and leaving. I just couldn't do it. He liked showing me stuff as much as I like looking at it. I was there for an hour and a half again. It was all I could do to walk out without buying at least one of these St. Croix 5' 6" Pistol Grip Pro Glass rods. Brand new never used. I may still go back for them. He had two old Garcia rods that were in pristine condition that you'd hang on a wall. Garcia Conolon Four Star. Two walls of Plano boxes (that I took pictures of) and the biggest Daredevil I've ever seen. I saw a GLoomis Frog Rod and a GL2 Flipping Stick, Duckett Ghost and MicroMagic, ABU rods, St. Croix Premier, older Pro Glass and Triumph's. An original Castaway Standard Graphite from the beginnings of Castaway as well as a Rattle Trap Series Castaway, and of course I caressed the Megabass Destroyer again. Saltwater rods and reels numbering close to 200. Saltwater lures by the hundreds and panfish tackle by the thousands. He was opening Plano boxes he hadn't even inventoried yet. (the inventory is in his head) He had Penn saltwater reels that was so big, you could put a helicopter prop and lift off. I told him that some guys from a website I belong to that are relatively close might like to come by to shop and he said come on down. I would volunteer to sort and organize just to be able to see everything he has in detail.

Years ago when I was first married, I was at a friend's and there was a girl that had a crush on me there too. At some point someone mentioned the size of my feet. I said, "you know what they say about big feet and big hands don't you?" Her eyes got as big as saucers and I said, "big shoes and big gloves." She was a bit disappointed at the answer. He has guys coming from up and down the east coast to shop his "store".

In my post title "Used Fishing Tackle Wonderland", the guy had this rod and I finally got to hold one. I took a picture of the tag but, we had already put the rod back into it's cover. He told me he'd sell it to me but, that kind of money was out of my range. But, man was it a pleasure to hold and behold. Perfect condition.

I met a guy at a fishing flea market. He mentioned having once had over 34K lures in his garage. He said he didn't have that many now but, Still had 1000s. He said he had hundreds and hundreds of rods and reels, some new, mostly used. I told him I'd love to see it and he gave me his address. Super nice guy whose life is fishing. I wish I'd have know my cell phone pictures were some not so good but, you'll get the gist. Some really cool old stuff too, like a Garcia spinning reel with a spring bail. One Mitchell with no bail. He had just sold a bunch of St. Croix and Loomis rods but, still had a few. A decent number of older St. Croix ProGlass as well as a Powell, Carrot Stick and so on. From crappie to perch to bass to boat to surf, he has some of everything. He sells to anyone that would like to come over and browse. He said the downside is that he is 70 and has no idea what will happen to his "treasure", as no one in his family has a real idea of what is in that garage. The plan is that one of his good friends will sell it off and give the proceeds to his wife. The pictures hardly do the spectacle any justice.

No fish is the wrong fish. Once you embrace that, your fishing enjoyment goes up.
