  1. Trey will point out the difference between a warranty and an insurance policy. What most anglers want is not warranty but, insurance for whatever may occur with rod breakage. Kistler does not do insurance policies. I have had a nice exerience with Trey every time I've dealt with Kistler.
  2. Much to the chagrin of my wife and kids, if I am home, MASH and the Andy Griffith Show are watched at 7 and 9 every night. The Simpsons, Family Guy, Big Bang Theory. I can also sit and watch Bar Rescue for hours. I recently was able to eat and drink at a rescued bar in Hope Mills, NC.
  3. While I route for the home teams, the owners don't send Dave a check when they win, and Dave doesn't get all upset when they lose...

  5. My partner and I take our Maryland customers to the northen neck of VA to fish in the fall. They could give a rats rear end about bass, they want to catch bowfin!
  6. I went through this three years ago. Oh my what pain. (our personnel person usually kids someone who claims some sort of pain with "better than a needle in the eye" She said she has had my pain and might rather have the needle...) I went from Tylenol 3's, to Percocet, to Vicodin. Although the Percocet is a stronger narcotic, the Vicodin did the trick for me. (the Fireball chaser helped) On the night before the surgery, I had no pain... Mine was an absess due to a previous root canal. It had to be done by a Endodontist. All under local and it went perfectly. Whatever you do, don't google it.
  7. I thought they were no longer owned by ESPN...
  8. If it's casting okay, keep backing off of the magnetic control gradually. The best thing to do is to read the tutorials here on BR, and figure out that way. Each bait will be different based on weight and aerodynamics. Back the mag off to 0. Then, test your drop speed. Adjust brake for drop speed and then adjust the mag to 5. Then fine tune it until you're casting well. You will have then figured it out yourself and be able to make adjustments as you change baits.
  9. Sometimes the fat guy (400#) that works in our warehouse, uses his shirt to wipe his face and we get to see his belly. Go ahead, draw a mental picture...
  10. Harvest those panfish or they'll never get big.
  11. I bought one of those at a flea market in Deale (being a local you'll know Deale) for $5, perfect condition. Sold a few weeks later for $20 at another flea market.
  12. This is not your typical "what's your favorite rod" thread. It is very possible that only those with some "experience" (older guys) can have a real answer. No matter how many rods I buy or how many times I think that "it's new so it must be better so I need it" thoughts pop into my head, I seem to return to one particular rod. It is a fifteen plus year old Castaway HG40 Pro Signature Series Bud Pruitt Flippin Stick. It is 7' 6" telescopic, heavy power, slow, parabolic action. No other rod I have purchased to replace it EVER matches up. I had read posts from other sites of guys that loved this rod and I bought one used about eight years ago. I can't put my finger on why, other than it just pitches, flips and fishes better than any rod I've tried to replace it with. Every year it seems, I pick it up and wonder why I ever even try to replace it. Do any of you with a few years on you (I am not ruling out younger guys having some good input) have what is considered an "Old Faithful"? A rod (or reel) that despite it's age and it seemingly being out of fashion, just continues to be a main player in your arsonal? I imagine some of you might have some much older rods in action. By the way, this rod was also made in a 7'6" MH power. I want one. If anybody has one, PM me...

  15. This is the first time I've heard of someone "wanting" to watch Beat Charlie Moore...LOL
  16. I hope they make them for 300# users...
  17. Most have NO idea how far they are casting in real numbers. Go to your local football field and stand at the goal line. Start casting and measuring. (and getting a dose of reality) You can also step it off as was mentioned and be close to correct.
  18. Must use a poison ivy/brush killer. NEVER BURN IT. The oils attach themselves to the smoke and get in your sinus' and lungs. You think having it on your arm is bad... Lowe's or Home Depot or any hardware store should have it.
  19. Hey, I resemble that title...

I've been wearing the ORANGE Spiderwire glasses with amber lenses. When asked why I say I like the lenses and they make my fishing partner chuckle everytime I put them on...
  21. There should be a forum titled, HUH?
  22. There is a lot to be said about being less competitive. Also to being a big fish in a small pond...
