I dont know?!?!?!?
After looking at Will's website, I think he is right. I would have called it a drum in Kansas though.

I dont know?!?!?!?
It's a drum guys. Just about the nastiest worthless fish... second only to a grass carp.

Smallmouth License Plate
I would do anything for one of those tags right now but I live in Kansas. The reason why I would totally dig one is because I was married in Tennesee and would LOVE to have one of those to hang in my fishing room even if it was blank.

Painful to lose Expensive Baits
What lure costs $60?????? Seriously...I want to know, so I can buy one. All kidding aside, I just don't see a need for those super detailed high end lures unless you are fishing gin clear water. Sure, I have a bunch. But I doubt anyone can convince me my Sammys can easily out perform my Spooks. Let's face it guys....we are suckers.

Map Maker Survey
Where do you guys buy your maps from? What are some dependable sources? I have considered USGS and this is probably the most accurate I'd have to guess. The Hot Spots maps aren't as detailed as I'd like, but they do have the nice GPS coordinates. Give me a few good sources if ya could please. I am specifically looking for Smithville and Table Rock Lakes in Missouri. Thanks! 8-)

My Bassmaster U Expierence
I asked Ike about that shirt too. He said they'll be on his website soon. I don't kow if they are his design and such but he will be selling them. He also had snazy black shoes with fish and his name on them as well.

Forage research question
How do you suppose the best way to get definative forage information about a lake. I have always just looked around when fishing but I was wondering if there was another way to find this out easier, more efficiently and certain. I'd like to know the types, the predominate forage and the average sizes. Is there a website or something?

My Bassmaster U Expierence
Hey, I was there. I liked Mark Davis but I didn't like how he answered my question about what makes the difference between a fisherman like himself and a fisherman like us. He said it was God given and sometimes no matter how bad you want it, you can't do it. Sorry, but I thought that was a wrong message to send to the kids in the audience. Randy Howell was nice but he was kinda boring and I don't remember much about his lecture. Ike? Well I walked in an Ike hater and left a fan. The guy is undeniably an awesome fisherman but he has a passion that cannot be denied. And the best thing is, he is geniune. He really loved teaching us and he put the kids first. Van Dam, he was alright. He taught basics of spinnerbaits and jerkbaits but it wasn't really anything I haven't heard before. Shaw is just an all around good guy. See him twice and he is another guy who enjoys teaching. Rich Tauber is an awesome speaker. You really enjoy his lecture. Honest and genuine. One of my favorites and I have been going for five years now. If you see him on the schedule near you, go, it's worth it.

Lawrence, KS. Bass Club. Members needed!
There isn't a schedule as of yet. That is why this club is a good club to get into. We will vote on things like schedule, format and rules for the 06 season in the first couple of meetings.

Lawrence, KS. Bass Club. Members needed!
Do you live in or around Lawrence Kansas? Have you been looking for a laid back bass club where you can learn from experienced anglers and get a taste of the competitive nature of big bass tournaments? The Lawrence Outdoors and Fishing Club is looking for members (boat owners and non-boat owners) to join for the 06 season. If you would like more information, please email me at: alandis311@yahoo.com

Lawrence KS. bass club: Non-boaters needed!
That is correct.

How would you rate yourself ????
What's funny about this is, is that I used to rate myself just to kind of gauge where I am to the real good bass fishermen. I'd hear something like Hackney saying, "Well a year ago, I didn't even know what a pattern was," and I would think, "Well I knew what a pattern was and he's on the tour!" So I must be pretty good right? Not necessarily! What you tend to forget is the absolute natural talent these guys have. Patience, determination and focus that is hardly matched. Nowa year or two ago I would have said I was a 6, but now I know I was no where near a 6. As I get better, the more I know how little I know. And I think that's key. Always keep learning. I never want to see my plateau of skill or knowledge. With this in mind, I'd like to rate myself at a -10. YES, you have seen the first integer.

Busy ramp...your thoughts?
September 4th man. And to tie this in to the subject, she is awesome in backing a trailer. She's used to pulling a 30ft goose neck horse trailer.

Busy ramp...your thoughts?
Kind of a funny story related: I was fishing by myself the other day and when I pulled up to the dock, there were about 4 "privileged" college kids getting read to load their fairly new and very nice ski/wakeboard Tige boat on the trailer. One of the guys noticed I was by myself and tying up and he was nice enough to ask if I need help. I politely said, "Neh, I do this all the time." He seemed shocked and said that he wouldn't be able to do that himself as I walked off to grab the pick-up. Long story short, I was loaded and pulling away to drive home before those 4 guys even got their boat on the trailer. I also pride myself in my launch and load times. Not many faster than me.

Advice for VERY Stained Water?
LOL, I think I meant Colorado blade. IT'S BIG AND ROUND OK?!??!?

Advice for VERY Stained Water?
The bass usually shallow up and hold really close to cover in muddy water. Fish slow, and use something really bright like chartruese or solid black. Try using a spinnerbait with a fat oklahoma blade or a wide wobbling crank.

fishing after a day of rain
Usually when it rains hard, the water gets churned up and gets muddy. The bass usually shallow up and hold really close to cover. Fish slow, and use something really bright like chartruese or solid black. I couldn't agree more with the buzzbait or spinnerbait. Just use a fat oklahoma blade on the spinnerbait.
