Greatest Angler Debate travesty!!!
Brauer out?!?!?!?!?!? I think Dance sold his his soul to get this high on the rankings. This debate is a joke.

Fishin' Shows
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Jimmy Houston. You don't learn a lot but he's funny to watch sometimes. I met him at a Basmaster University and he's a pretty down to earth and funny guy. I liked Hank Parker too. He just seems like a cool guy. My favorite new show is that Schooled by Denny Brauer. I agree with everyone who like the BASS and FLW tournaments. I think they are the best to learn from if you are serious about fishing.

Next time you see one of his shows, watch how he plays his fish...he's got the rod behind his head ???

Back of the boat
Yep! I have yet to see a guy in the front who work an area enough to know for sure that a fish is not there. He might just be warming the fish up for you. He is getting him excited and you plop a worm down there and BANG! My only advice is is try to find out what he plans to throw that day or how fast he plans to fish so you can match up and be most efficient. It is hard as hell to catch fish when you want to throw a weightless Senko on that day and he wants to run and gun with a spinnerbait like Van Dam.

Three Little Words
I don't think I'll get the same action from Lynette by saying those 3 little words as much as the other 3 little words you were talking about.

You know what would be real COOOOLL
OK Glenn, here is what you need to do. If everyone is really serious about this, you need to get an idea of how many people would actually attend. So I propose you put a poll up on the main page like you usually do and have people vote on a lake or region. OR you could just make this a tour in which one person is the tourny director of a certain region and the people in that region fish that tournament. So you can have a regional winners and the overall winner. These tournaments would be paper tournaments that measure lengths and the overall winner would be determined by points. Just some ideas... 8)

They Just DONT UNDERSTAND! Who's with me?
This post reminds me of a joke.... Three guys are out on the lake fishing and one of the guys speaks up and says, "Man, you'll never believe what I had to do yesterday just to be able to come out here today. The wife wanted me to mow the lawn, trim the hedges and spray for weeds all day. The second guy says, "That's nothing! I had to paint the house, then I had to fix the fridge and the car!" The third guy just kept fishing for a while when finally one of the other guys says, "Hey, what did you have to do?" The third guy just smiled and said, "Early this morning I gently rolled over to my wife and asked her.... Fishing or Sex? She turned to me and said, "Where a sweater." Hope there wasn't too many of you who had heard that one.

how do you know when bass are spawning?
ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK! - GO KU!!!

how do you know when bass are spawning?
That was a cool story. I know bedding bass are sometimes tough to catch, but sometimes there aren't females, sometimes they are bucks guarding the bed. I noticed persistence pays off. What's the deal with everyone misusing the forum to tout their favorite college team? The poor guy asks a question and you guys go off on your own tangent and start yelling out your favorite teams! Ridiculous I say!

A MO lake would be better. KS lakes are boring IMO. Beaver, Table Rock, Tanney Como, etc. I'd do it. Good idea Abel!

Ever wondered ........
Well I feel like I am ahead of the game then. I have been serious about bass fishing for only about 4 years now and I have some tackle but not as much as some people I know and here's a few reasons why: 1) I would like to be specialized in as few techniques I think I would need as possible. I don't want to be so-so on a lot of different lures. I would rather be really good on 5 different lures. 2) I am kinda a big statistics guy and I believe to more lures you have to chose from, the lower your chances are of guessin the right lure. Also I always see guys switchin, switchin and switchin again when what they need to do is have their bait in the water more, whatever it is. 3) The lure companies are playing us fishermen for fools guys! Company X puts out a spring crawfish color and then puts out another variation of basically the same color, knowing we need that new color. Buying lures is just a habit maybe an obsession and those darn companies bank on that. I'm guilty too, but I am already in the process of culling a lot of my stock and spreading the wealth to my father-in-law and brother. ;D

Lawrence KS. bass club: Non-boaters needed!
If you have no boat and you are just getting back into fishing, this could be a good learning experience. I joined another club about 3 years ago and my life was changed because of how much I learned to love bass fishing. It's not too expensive either. You pay for all the tournaments left in the season as soon as you join the club. For example, when I joined, they had only done one tournament so I had to pay $100 upfront for the rest of the season. We have the third tournament tomorrow so the fee will be less than $100. Non-boater fees for gas are decided before each tournament. Boaters fish against boaters and non-boaters fish against non-boaters. Our monthly meetings are on the first Tuesday of the month at Kaspars in Lawrence. After you join, they send out monthly newsletters. The best part is we get to fish some pretty cool lakes like Truman, Smithville and Pomme. It's a great opportunity to learn and not fish off the shore. ;D Feel free to call me with any questions 785-917-9073 or you can just show up to the meeting here at Kaspars on the first Tuesday next month. Hope that helps.

Which would they hit first?
I believe I'd go with that new hybrid forage, Blue Shadads.

They Just DONT UNDERSTAND! Who's with me?
MAN! I must be really lucky! I feel sorry for you guys! None of you wives like to fish? ? My fiance loves to fish. She goes out with me 80% of the time. She's can run the trolling motor, she can throw a baitcaster, and she knows how to pattern fish. (Kind of ) When I want to go fishing, I go through the mental rolodex of fishing buddies and she's always first on my list. Although, she still likes the "pretty" lures and she has to pee a lot, : she's still fun to have out there bass fishing. I can even get her to kiss the fish! She's got a sign in her office and it reads: "Some women shop, REEL women fish!" I know what you are thinking..."Yeah, but I'll bet she looks like she's been beat to death with the ugly stick." That's the best part! She is cute as a button. Ok sorry, I'm done braggin'. ;D

Greatest Angler Debate travesty!!!
I had heard about Martin having people prefishing for him. I had not heard it was 200 though. That seems to be blown out of proportion. My questions are, how could he find that many people at each tourny, how could afford to pay these people for their time and how could he have time before the tournament to narrow down the pattern out of the two hundred fishermen? Also I really don't think he would be considered in this debate if he was so notorious for this practice.
