What have you been using to...
Jiggin: usual structure/depth. But if you notice beds, run a swim or crank by them. Been getting 2 pounders off topwater (my new Rage Toads), early morning, over shallow structure and pads. No pigs yet. Maybe this weekend We'll see. :

Charlie Moore
Met that guy up on Winni and he was the biggest jerk until the cameras started rolling. Then he was the nicest guy going. Go figure.

Simple custom 3d eyes
Good idea. The kdis have plenty of playdough laying around. Just need to get some epoxy. Great idea though. Very innovative.

Using mepps/ panther martin lures
Unfortunately the bream and pickerel love them too. I use Panther Martins when fishing for Brookies.

smallie baits prespawn and spawn
If budget is an issue, I'd go with spinnerbaits for search, and tubes for beds. They're both cheap.

new baits finished
Unbelievable Marty! I agree with fourbizz........ the bottom one is just plain sexy. I'm gonna have to think about purchasing one of those from ya if you're selling them. I'll let ya know. Keep up the fine art.

Can anyone Draw??
And though its not "fishing" related, here's a Mickey I drew 2 years ago. I can do portraits too. With a visual or photo I can pretty much draw anything. Enjoy.

bream for big bass? let a pig go
I hear ya bud. I overdose on the amount of time I spend out. Just keep throwing different things and keep plugging. I've had alot of big ones get away from me. Either getting wrapped or a mistake on my part, or I didnt set the hook right. Yeup, I've broken a rod or two. How big is the pond?

anyone ever tried eating peacock bass?
From Wikipedia.org: PEACOCK BASS Their eating quality is very good. Their flesh is white and sweet when cooked, and has very little oil, making it similar in taste to snapper or grouper. Also, they are not excessively bony. However, most professional American anglers recommend practicing catch and release for these species to protect their numbers in the United States. To help ensure this, Florida Wildlife and Game Commission officers strictly enforce bag limits for these fish. I'd check the bag limits and if the water is clean, ....... why not? There's 5 species of peacock bass and they are all cichlids. Speckled peacock bass (3-barred peacock when spawning) Butterfly peacock bass ..........and two others with no english name. They introduced butterly and speckled to Your state in 1984.

By the way, WELCOME TO BR!

bream for big bass? let a pig go
I think the bigger portion of the problem here is that you were shorecasting. If you were "aquatically mobile" you probably could have avoided letting that big fella get himself wrapped in vegetation. If you didn't feel the bite with 4 lb test, then you probably won't with 17 lb test. If he was as big as you say he was then I think you did a hell of a job working him and managing your drag.

at what age can you start teaching a boy to fish?
My daughter is 3 years old and I have her casting pretty darn good now. Last season, she was only 2, I brought her to a trout farm, casted in for her, hooked one, then handed the rod to her to reel in. And she did! Now that she can cast I want to see if she can catch some crappie for my frying pan. I'm stoked. Come winter this year Ima try her on some skis. Oughtta be fun.

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
The males. They are getting ready to spawn. Nice catch Jaystraw. I've been hitting up the Salmon Falls River but its too high and the current is too strong. I can't catch a thing.

What would you throw?
I agree with Big O. If there's top water activity around you then go top water. Maybe try one of those new Rage Toads hooked weedless, worked over and in cover. :

A couple of steelhead
See around here we have "hot spots" or easy access to the river or stream. Most of these jokers in my parts are too d**n lazy to hike a mile or two and find the nice secluded spots. I'll park at a hot spot then hike a mile, mile and a half. Quiet, peaceful. No kids throwing logs in the water. Don't let part timers ruin your time.
