  1. for carolina rigging and jig casting. ANy of you guys have any experience with this rod? it will be my first dobyns.
  2. with the babies i have a lot of success on shakey heads 3/16, and spot removers 3/16, slow retrieve with a lot of rod wiggle, let those legs go to work for ya. The Coosa River spots love em!
  3. WOW! what lake did that bag come from?
  4. right now i have about a dozen diff types, but i like my powells and my cumaras the best, have a new g-blanks i havent put to use yet though...
  5. had alot of luck with the suspending fingerlings. crankin em down to structure and stopping em over or in it.
  6. 15lb hybrid in smoke color is my go to line for a number of baits, i have it spooled on five different reels that I use for topwater, paddle tails, spinnerbaits, lipless cranks, and swim jigs.
  7. glad they sold out! or else i woulda been in serious debt!
  8. i hate to even mention it, but the river 2 sea tango prop has been the best topwater bait ive used in the last 4-5 years. I am very partial however to the old school Nip-it-idee(sp?)
  9. Hopefully a 7ft hvy action zillion and matching hyperspeed reel!
  10. I like them auite a bit better than the crucials, they arent as sensitive as the cumaras, but they have more backbone. Best rod value out there IMO.
  11. Zoom Big Dead ringeror a Berkley Beast, with 1/2 oz Gambler screw in weight.
  12. rogue and the unmentioned yo-zuri crystal minnow
  13. i use the 7'2 MF allstar asr jerkbait/topwater rod
  14. thanks for the tip man! good to know im not the only one using these things! that would be a travesty!
  15. Any one ever had any experience with All Pro Rods. I bought one about 2 months ago, the 6'10 ASX series rod. Retails for about the same as a Loomis IMX. As an owner of several Loomis, Falcon, and Cumara's I must say this rod matches tham all. It has tremendous balance and alot of backbone. I use it as my jig casting rod, and cralwing a football head jig literally feels like your running your hand across the bottom! Just thought i'd throw those two pennies out there....
  16. personally i like the codes! now is it in the same class as my fuegos, zillions, or curados, no, but it has a great shape, cast very well, and holds up very well when put to work on coosa river spots!! you can find em for 60ish$$ and to me they are well worth that!
  17. not a bad buy at all, they make pretty good all purpose rods, good for spinners, lippless cranks, topwaters, jerks, etc....
  18. I like to combint both for the "shakey-shot"! 1/8 oz shakey 18-24 inches below a wacky rigged stick bait or nose hooked minnow bait. When the deep water bite is on this rig is just plain nasty!
  19. I have two of the ASR's a 7'2 jig and frog rod which is SOOO hard to put down! I also have the 7'2 m action topwater and jerkbait rod, it feel great, almost seems to be made perfect for x-rap and pointers!
  20. ive got a few of both, and for the 20+ more i would still buy the cumara! the Mags are very good, very very good rods. Light sensitive nd well balanced. But they arent as light, as sensitive,or as well balanced as teh cumaras! The over the counter lifetime warranty is also a huge plus IMO for shimano.
  21. save a few more bones up and just get a new citica E man, you wont be dissapointed!
  22. i always want mine to balance where my index finger meets the rod, its all personal preference.
  23. one thing i will say for the BPS rods is that if you break one, you take it back to the store, tehy hand you a new one, simple as that.
  24. here is a list of rods that i consider all to be better than the cabelas or BPS low-mid grade rods 1) daiwa Procyon, im7 graphite, split grip, fuji guides-49.95-54.95 2) all star ASR series-im 10 graphit, split grip, light weight, techniques specific-89.95 3) shimano clarus-great warranty, very sensitive and versatile $65-80 4)st. croix triumph-solid rod, good warranty, very versatile-75-90$
