  1. Some people on here mash the barb down on the inside of the hook. That makes it easier. However, some will argue doing that will lead to losing fish every now and then.
  2. Is that the one thats supposed to have "extra long casting"? If so, I had the same problems. From the hook to about 6 inches up the line gets worn out very fast. It frays and splits and breaks easily. Ill never buy it again...
  3. Someone mentioned on another thread that it was harder to adjust the Revo for different lures with different weights considering you have to loosen a screw, compared to an external device on the Citca. With that said, does that mean the Revo wouldn't be a good beginner reel?
  4. While ya'll are here... Could someone tell me the difference in the Shimano Citca D and the Citca 100DSV? They are shown as the same price..? I didn't know buying a baitcaster would be this difficult.
  5. Accurist PT or CX? And can you use these on a 6' rod?
  6. I like Chatterbaits too! Can't help you with your canoe...
  7. Thanks man. I went to Dick's just to look at them and they had sold them all by the time I got there. The sale ends tomorrow I think. Please let me know how it goes!
  8. You can order straight off the Gary Yamamoto website, but of course you'll pay the regular price. I find a lot of fishing stuff on Ebay. Definitely check Ebay first. I get my Gary Yamamoto stuff from Dick's Sporting goods.
  9. On that note, what do you recommend?
  10. Wow thanks. I was just reading the coupon. =)
  11. I'm looking to buy my first baitcaster. I got a coupon in the mail today for a Quantum Escalade for $69.00 (normally $119.99). How are Quantum reels? Is this a good buy?
  12. Any suggestions?
  13. I was gettin ready to say the exact same thing. Sign or no sign, you don't go on other people's land unless you can run faster than the bullets

I've never really had a problem with 6 lb test. The fish in my picture is a little under 5 lbs and the line had no problems.

Thank you. I have never fished jigs before, and I have no clue where to start.

How heavy jigs should i throw for a small rod with 6 lb test?
  17. I was wondering about this. I'm no snake expert, or fishing expert for that matter, but the "videos" the person was looking for earlier seem to be on Doug Hannon's website showing snakes catch fish. While these aren't real snakes, it seems they do very well catching fish while moving, and looking like snakes... Hmm... Why market a bait imitating a snake if "fish don't eat snakes."
  18. I only fish ponds. Lately I've been doing really well with chatterbaits. I always do well with lizards and worms also.

When is a good time to start throwin' frogs?
  20. Hey, I'm new here too. I'm also from around Winston. (East Bend)
  21. I live in North Carolina. I was asking because I went to my local Dicks to buy Senko's and they all looked pretty much the same; very dark browns, reds, blacks, and blues. I know they make more because I've visited the website. It just seemed weird to have such a popular bait with few colors.
  22. What color Senko's are you guys throwin?
