hot weather bass , what should i use
oh and also, that waterfall is gonna be key as well, throw some crankbaits or plastics beneath that waterfall right at the base of it. At the base of waterfalls bass tend to hang out sometimes due to the increased oxygenated water and feeding possibilities.

hot weather bass , what should i use
welcome to the heat wave, i agree, its incredibly hot outside fishin is gonna be slow during the day, look in shady spots and in the weeds where the bass can stay cool. nights and mornings are going to be key during this heat the first thing i would throw would be minnow crankers, then narrow it down to throw some senkos, tonight maybe spinnerbaits and other things that make noise

Fishing for Big(ger) Bass in the NE
patience young grasshopper... think like a bass, where would you chill if you were a big fish. Think weeds, think finesse lures, think cover, think lakes and rivers that don't have a lot of traffic and/or fishing pressure. give it time, you'll catch some lunkers, theres more little fish than big fish in lakes around here, think how long it takes for a bass to grow to a pound (could take up to 4 years) and what the chances of survival are.

Massachusetts tips
most of the pickerel i catch probably die later anyways cause those stupid fish get the d**n hooks so far down their throats and in their heads anyways, but still, i don't think i would purposely kill one... arent they good eating if their in safe water?

Kayak fishing, how to?
I have been kayak fishing now for over a year. I had a recreational perception swifty 9.5 footer that I outfitted for fishing originally but have recently upgraded to a 12 foot heritage featherlite angler edition. Kayak fishing is great because it allows you to get into extremely shallow waters and backstreams that contain big bass that normal boats cannot get into. There are a few things you need to know: a fish will most likely not tow you around/offset your balance unless it tops over 4 pounds. make sure not to get too carried away with a hookset or you may find yourself unstable make sure to mount a fishing rod holder to your kayak for both convenience and ease of paddling, theres nothing like a fishing line getting tangled around your paddle when your getting into a current, these are only about 20 bucks and are easily mountable with 5 bucks of hardware and a drill. don't kayak fish with a racing kayak or whitewater kayak, these do not have enough stability for fishing, and you will capsize if you cast to either side of you. Recreational kayaks have a large hull width for beginners and serve as a great platform for kayak fishing BE ORGANIZED AND PREPARED... have everything you need on board... kayak storage is limited when I fish from my kayak i have a dry bag with my keys wallet and phone (in the rare case i tip) two rods, lifevest stored in back of my seat, and I wear a fishing vest with everything in it, water, snacks if its a long trip.. .... I do not bring a tackel box because that cramps the boat and makes it uncomfortable and I always paddle barefoot I just got back from naraganseet bay in RI fishing for stripers on my kayak and if i did catch anything I probably could have landed up to a 25 pound bass fairly easily on 2-3 foot waves In conclusion, it is possible, it is fun and it is easier than dealing with batteries, and gas.

Charles River is Hot
Bass are seriously hitting on the charles in the upper sections of the river, from welesley on up. Got 9 largemouth today on shallow diving bomber style crankbaits in 2 hours, all of them over 2 pounds, some real monsters over 4 pounds. What a way to break in my new pflueger reel and ultralight ugly stick today I suspect like the charles this recent rain has really upped the fishing on a lot of the rivers around here, so get out and fish ;D

Courtesy of Fishing Spots
when i go shore fishing at my shore spots i always pray that either little kids throwing rocks or people taking their dogs for swims arent gonna be there. When i go kayak fishing i usually dont run into other people fishing and if i do, my kayak looks so badass with 3 rods sticking out of it in every direction that people dont come near me in fear they're gonna get speared by them...

I think I prefer PowerPro over Sufix Braid
i love power pro, only other thing i've used is the ugly braid, which in my experiences is equally as good on a spinning outfit

What got you hooked?
well i think i fished for the first time when i was like 7 or 8 at the charles river in MA at camp with my dad, when i pulled up a sunfish it scared the crap out of me and i ran like hell. last april my good friend joe said we were gonna go fishin, and i said hell yea even though we had no idea what we were doing. I bought a shakespear combo and proceded to use a medium heavy 8ft rod to catch sunfish (retarded i know, i didnt know back then) I decided that catching sunfish didnt produce the fishing battles i saw on tv so decided to move up to bass. Took me a good 2 weeks, a lot of money invested in useless tackle, and a lot of frustration till i finally caught my first bass on the charles. Been hooked ever since... 8-) lately been kayak fishing in my new 600 dollar heritage angler edition, best investment EVER!
