Peacocks anyone?
dude that is wicked sick, i wish i could fish for those, my grandparents live in hobe sound, are there peacocks in the jupiter area of florida? those are by far the coolest looking bass there are, kinda remind me of yellow perch we've got up here. heres another question, do largemouth bass and these peacocks co-exist in the same waters? can u catch both in the same pond?

Fly Fishing for Bass
Hey guys, just recently got into fly fishing for bass but i'm not having too much luck up here in mass. Its not about my fly casting skills but about what i'm using i'm sure. Just wondering if anyone else has any fly tips for bass and what flys are good. So far I've been using poppers and topwater lures on an 8wt fly rod and nothing but panfish are hitting the topwater. I've caught three bass with the new rig so far but thats nothing for 3 outings and over 16 hours of total fishing. Thanks for any help guys

Jon boat or canoe?
i go fishin with my dad all the time in one of the 12ft canoes the summer camp he works at has. Just trying to balance in the canoe kills the fun of fishing. Funny story actually, I went to the beach yesterday, and there was a father mother and kid, and they're boat was way high up on the boat ramp so I offered to launch them and they said sure. So I launched them into the tidal river started to walk away and then looked back real quick and all of them were in the water were screaming ;D. I would say either a jon boat or two kayaks for you and whoever goes with u

Looking For First Kayak
Personally I would never get a pelican SOT after seeing my bosses. It is a solid yak but has serious tracking problems and is not a very streamlined design and takes a lot of energy to get it up to speed. My boss did get a brand new heritage redfish 12 angler edition kayak and the thing is awesome. We take it out in boston harbor fishing for stripers for 12 hours at a time catching 34 inch hogs almost every weekend. I absolutely love heritage and have a 12 ft sit in model myself. They run about 700 bucks but my buddy got a steal on his for 550. Good luck picking out your yak!

A question for guys in MA
this year top water has been horrible for me... i don't think i caught 1 bass topwater except 1 on a popper with a fly rod. I do get significant action on supershallow crankbaits running from 2-6 inches under the surface...

First time Senko user
the hook point needs to go back into the side of the worm, this way, weeds don't get caught on the bend in the hook, they just glide past them. When i started using them i thought how the hell am i going to hook any bass when the point is burried in the plastic, but when you set the hook on the fish, the point it forced through the worm into it

Best fishing lure for Miller Park, Maine
always a good bet is a senko, a rubber worm rigged weedless and weightless with an offset worm hook, green or black color. Just throw it near cover and let it sink to the bottom then slowly reel it in and watch the fish come in. also try a supershallow crankbait since the lake is shallow. try some minnow style crankbaits as well

Past weekend in MA
goin to reup this post here. Just went out on the charles, midday, semi slow fishing.. Was practicing my fly casting and caught a nice perch (first catch on fly rod!!!) A bluegill on the fly rod, and two 1.5 pound bass on a senko on spinning gear. Overall nice day....... Water level is extremely high for this time of year because of the recent rediculous storms that came through dropping 4-5 inches of rain, it is in the same state is was in during april. Current is running and bass are probably extremely confused, just like me...

Lake Cochituate information for this weekend??
yea dude, anywhere around here the senkos kill. Went last night to an undisclosed location and caught so many bass on senko worms it was rediculous, even got a free lure in one of the jaws of the bass! but you're going on a saturday so watch those wakes man, it gets pretty busy out on that lake during the day, even at dusk its waky

Lake Cochituate information for this weekend??
first of all, here is the masswildlife pond map http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dfw/habitat/maps/ponds/pdf/dfwcoch.pdf as you can see north pond is extremely deep, and i find it impossible to fish so I usually skip that part of the pond all together... I usually fish middle pond right in the little area near the masspike, and hit the shore hard where its relatively shallow, lots of cover and a few docks as well. Theres also a few lillypads in that section near the pike. I also fish the area in between rt. 30 and masspike because its relatively quiet and there is a lot of downed trees where i've caught a bunch of bass and pickerel. its a little weedy in the shoreline areas so i would reccomend weedless soft rigged baits. Its gonna be real hard to fish open areas unless you've got some electronics on board, and if its even the slightest bit windy or lots of boats out on the lake, its gonna be hard to fish out in the open
