  1. dude that little pond is filled with cover, holy crap
  2. went out yesterday on the charles and they were hitting like crazy from about 11-3 in the afternoon, caught about 8 bass, two giants, I think I had one big pike or pickerel on the line too but i'm glad it got off cause it was too large to land in my kayak. senkos and a bluegill colored supershallow crankbait on the banks in the grass and stacked up in the shade and around downed trees
  3. hey guys anyone fish the lower sudbury river in the wayland, framingham area near heard pond... the rt. 20 bridge is under construction, normally where I put in my kayak.. I was wondering if anybody knows any small boat ramps where there is some parking along that stretch of the sudbury... anyone that helps me out i can inform you of charles river spots thanks
  4. maybe some simple small L shelving brackets screwed into the side
  5. the eskimos would have shat themselves
  6. at least you didnt fall into the charles twice the other day like my stupid *** trying to be the super bass saving hero stuck on a limb :-[
  7. but it is wierd that every bass i catch beneath the falls seem to be that jet black color while bass i catch at the top of the falls tend to be a completely different color pattern. Maybe it depends on location, depth or whathaveyou that they live in, who knows?
  8. yea on rt 16 in south natick, although right now the fish are so gone its rediculous, earlier in the season i was catching 8 or 9 bass all over 2 pounds in a matter of a few hours every day. But the water is wicked low everywhere on the charles right now.... i havn't caught any pike, a few pickys though that were massive... I bet there are some crazy big pikes in there though downriver
  9. south natick dam on the charles in natick, maybe just a different race of largemouth bass, one of those african american largemouth bass
  10. where were you fishing, did it look like the fish in my avatar?
  11. huh... u learn something everyday i guess
  12. i have a kayak, here is a picture of mine, a heritage 12' featherlite angler edition sit in kayak if you are fishing by yourself you want a kayak, it is more manuverable and less heavy than a canoe depending on the model that you buy. However you need to decide between a sit on top kayak and sit in kayak. If you are doing a lot of freshwater fishing you might want a sit-in kayak to keep dirty water out that is likely to get all over your legs in a self-bailing sit on top kayak. If you plan to do ocean fishing, you want a sit on top kayak. A sit-in kayak is most likely lighter in weight and in many cases a faster boat than sit on top kayaks. if you plan on fishing with a friend often, you may want a canoe, two kayaks or a jon boat....
  13. the one gar i ever caught in florida was on a surface popper, i ticked it off just enough and then it hit, hope that works, although i dunno why u would wanna catch them, those things are vicious!
  14. dude if just the eye takes up the whole picture, that thing must be 100 lbs!!!!!!
  15. i fish the charles in the natick sherborn medway areas upstream, never caught anything using a spinnerbait, however spinners like the mepps kill in the early spring, also I threw one of those bass pro super shallow crank baits yesterday and the thing hit on the first cast, it got hung up in a tree and to make a long story short, i fell in the river twice and I reeked. But come to think of it I don't catch much on spinnerbaits and buzzbaits on any body of water in our area...
  16. hey what type of fish is the second fish down? is that a carp?
  17. if ur ever in the area of boston, the bass pro in foxboro probably has what ur looking for, the place is huge and i know it has a TON of plastics, check it out if your in the area
  18. yea dude, go back there with some 20lb test and maybe even saltwater gear and catch that mother!
  19. hybrids as in striper hybrids? those things are crazy, i fish regular stripers though
  20. i would say foul hooked carp, u said it moved slowly towards cover, if it were a pike or pickerel of that size a serious fight would have happened, and it probably would have broken ur line a hell of a lot quicker... those things jerk really hard and would break ur 8 lb test in an instant...
  21. dude at the charles river in boston theres a dam about 18 miles upstream that goes through my town. Usually theres a crapload of bass at the base of this dam, although lately all i see are these huge carp chillin and swimmin and baskin in the sun all day long. AND I CAN"T CATCH THEM!!!!! it ticks me off so bad, dunno what i'm doin wrong, i got my saltwater gear with a small trout hook on a snelled leader, a swivel, and a 1 ounce sliding weight. I used fresh corn, and tried hot dog rolls and came up with crap... someone helppp!!!!!
  22. i've been havin the same problem in the metrowest area, nothins been hittin too hard, guess i gotta get out earlier... although the nights have sucked around here, no hits after 6 pm whatsoever, on every bait and lure i have > need...more....bass :'(
  23. check the rod? maybe there's a sharp point somewhere in one of the guides weakening the braid? I had a crack in my tip's guide once and it sliced through 10lb braid like a razor, i couldnt figure out why my line kept breaking until 4 knots later
  24. This is an awesome thread.... I started fishing about 2 years ago, now i'm 20. I have often thought about fishing as a profession. Right now i'm going into my last year at school going for a baking and pastry degree. I LOVE FISHING! However I have come to a conclusion. First It must be a lot of work to maintain these business relationships and all. It must be nerve-racking to know that if you don't win the next tournament or sell a certain amount of items that you'lll be dropped and jobless... Second, it must be hard work... every time i see a fishing show, they're at a new location, somewhere else with their boats, travel must kill these guys. Third, it has always been said that a bad day fishing beats a good day at work.... What happens when the two combine? It must be absolutely heartbreaking and depressing when you can't catch fish, which happens to everyone :'( This is what makes me think that fishing should be a hobby at least for me, and that if all of this extra business stuff and traveling would actually limit real dedicated fun fishing time. For me at least, all this business seems to take away from the real reason for fishing, and could potentially make a stressful situation from an amazingly fun sport. so i'll take my ultralight rod and fishing kayak to the pond (which probably doesn't have anything over 4# in it) and have just as much fun as the next guy without a sponsor 8-)
