  2. Mystic Lake in Medford or the Horn pond in Woburn. Mystic is my favorite. tight line!
  3. That is a great deal around here! I pick up my for $400,1 yrs old 46lbs TM, battery type 29, battery charger and 2 chairs mount on the bench in a way that you can slide it left and right. How wide is the bottom of the boat? If it is anything below 36in, I would be very careful when you bring a friend along. Your deck may be too high up. Just my 2 cents! Check out Low budget hooker thread. You must be a very big guy to lift it up on top of the tahoe! My jon boat is 32 bottom and 44 top. So, I just put it inside the van. I'm also in the Boston area, where do you cast lure? Tight line, MA1232
  4. Great deal! The trailer alone is worth $200. You got a FREE boat! can't beat that price. Good luck and post picture of your mod,
  5. Here is my diy from hand dolly to Jon dolly .... of course it can go back again if needed! Help a lot on unloading at the ramp on Mystic River in Medford, MA. I have to remove the battery when load because it is hard to pull up a steep ramp. Also, it float, I did not expected to but it does. if you are going into the wood, I would use a bigger set of wheels. more pic....

  8. ""that stupid boat ..." Man I feel your pain only because I get that same quote. I told my wife that it is an investment. I said ... "we will save money when I bring fresh fish home". However, no fish yet this year. Do you have any picture of your outriggers and deck work? Thanks!
  9. Nice Job! Clean and simple!
  10. I know, sadly the truck liner paint did not work out for LBH. I wanted to do the same thing on my Jon boat. So, I asked him how was the bottom paint holding up. I just wanted to share the info. I got. Spanky543, just put on as many coat as you can at the repair area. Don't forget to prep between coat. The following is info. I got that make sense to me. 2 prime coats ( all area ) 2 paint coats ( all area ) For the repair area you can add 3 - 4 more coats. my2cents, if you are going to use rustoleum. I once, re-finished an old table over 20 yrs ago with 8 coats of poly and it still look like great today.
  11. Hi, I'm trying to gather as must info. about paint aluminum as possible over here ... http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1208786298 Also, here is what LBH said about truck bedliner paint .... "DO NOT USE BEDLINER!!! Terrible results, terrible drag coefficient, terrible weight added I too am waiting to see the results of a few of these Rustoleum jobs. We are stripped to shiny metal and waiting to see which route, the cost effective Rustoleum with unproven durability (chipping, etc) or the big $$ Interlux (which still eventually chips,....let's remember,...it's paint on a jon boat, they are made to be beat up) we will go with. ANYONE WITH RUSTOLEUM---Please report in with your results and provide pics if possible. THANKS!" Good luck and let us know how things turn out for you.
  12. Thanks 92 5 oh! Please correct me if I get this wrong. 1 - strip with 'aircraft striper' or Wal-Mart striper 2 - Sand 3 - prime (2 - 3 coats) 4 - paint (2 - 3 coats) Can you tell which Rustoleum product you used to prime and paint your aluminum boat? They have so many line of products. Thanks
  13. Exactly, I'm looking for a painting process that is easy repair and work well ( no peeling or crack in a few week). I'm sure that other would like to know what have work and what not. Bruce, can you quick list the process you took to paint you boat? Thanks

  15. Hi, I'm planing to strip, prime and paint my Jon boat with Rustoleum product. What stripper did you used if you strip at all? What primer? What Rustoleum paint type? How is it holding up? What do you used for the bottom and how is it holding up? LBH used a truck liner paint for the bottom of his boat. How is it holding up LBH? Sorry, for so many questions.
