  1. I'd say yes. At least I hope they are, thats why I bought them. From what I've been told, the new black ones have aluminum frames where the first gold ones did not. (Not a big deal to some people) Graphite frame reels are pretty durable unless your constantly setting hooks on huge fish all the time.
  2. Georgia really let me down. All the hype and expectations for this year and.....

In response to jax: Ice hockey is very under-rated. Most kids can get into a football, baseball or basketball game just by walking down to the corner park. Thats when/where the bonds with those sports are formed. If one kid has a football, the whole neghborhood can play. Same with basketball, one kid brings a ball to the park (which you know has a goal), everybody who shows up gets to play. Its not like that with ice hockey. A kid just cant walk down the street and fall into a hockey game. I was lucky enough as a kid to have an ice rink around in the winter that we could play on. (ECHL teams played here in town) We had a good youth hockey organization and I was able to play in organized rec leagues for 12 years. I love hockey. Go Rangers!!
  4. 'SLAPSHOT' is one of my favorite movies. RIP Mr Newman
  5. That would be my guess too. Both were probably bustin' shad and the smaller bass ended up in the bigger one's mouth.
  6. I own a few of both gold and black ones. The gold (first) ones are still going strong, the black ones are still in boxes until the gold ones die. Very good reels, slop gears for crankin', oversized (longer) crankin' handles and will cast crankbaits a country mile. Well worth the money in my opinion.
  7. LOL! Let's not get that argument going again.
  8. Oregon State came to play, thats whats happenin'. ;D
  9. I wouldn't worry about the crowd in here, you've got bigger problems at Oregon State right now.
  10. HELP A BROTHA OUT!
  11. Yep, that one gets me too.
  12. Just incase someone didnt catch this, he wanted to saw that, "He likes it better than his revos" Sold all my Revo's and bought E7's Haha, all these revo fans are going to shimanos, hmmmmmmm Not me. That will never happen. And you know how new products are....everybody's got to have one. The Curado's the last couple years have really lost ground to the Revo, they had to get it right this time. Maybe they did, maybe they didn't. And like someone else posted, I'll be glad to take your Revo's off your hands, especially STX's and Premier's. PM me.
  13. A Trojan is a condom! ;D Tojan and Trojan are two different things. There is no 'r' in Tojan.
  14. Pointer 100 DD
  15. "Let the fish tell you what they want" Translation: I really don't know what's best for you to throw, just throw everything you have until you get bit, then stick with that bait.
  16. I've owned each Kistler model in the past (Graphite, Mag, Helium LTA, Helium LTX) While all are good rods, the LTA's are the best bang for your buck, in my opinion.
  17. Thats awesome Mike! What are you going to do with that extra $629 bucks you just found?
  18. Hey Tin, forgot to mention, I got the BASS TIMES today that had your name in it in the Weekend Series Results section. I'll send it to ya if you need an extra.
  19. I just can't do the horizontal dropshot thing. I dont have the patience or confidence. If they're on a breakline, point or hump, I'm most likely crankin', riggin' or jiggin'.
  20. Tin, is your buddy just seeing fish on the graph and dropping the drop shot straight down on top of 'em? Thats the only way I can catch 'em with a dropshot.
  21. The bite was tough all around in that Stren. A buddy fished it who lives on the lake and says the bigger fish are still deep. He couldn't get any of his boater partners to fish anything over 6 ft deep so they caught little ones every day, all day and his boaters seemed content with that. But in the end, the little ones Ike weighed in were just a shade bigger than everybody else's little ones.
  22. Dang it Tin, Kerr is a great lake this time of year. Iaconelli won a Stren Series event on Kerr this past weekend.
  23. I can tell that one is over 5. Its thicker (taller) from head to tail than that 4.5. Both are good'uns though!
  24. A big happening that triggers "fall" is when the water temps drop and the lake turns over. Bass and bait both will start to head into the creeks where the 'fresher' water is flowing in. If your water temps are currently that low, I'd give the fall patterns a try. (I'd be looking around for big groups of shad too, but thats just me)
  25. He might be having trouble folding up that big cardboard check to fit in his car, hopefully he'll give us an update soon.
