It's Official, BCS computers explode
I think Hawaii should get a shot at it. Why are they even in the BCS rankings in the first place if going undefeated means nothing? That makes no sense at all.....no matter what they do, they could never ever play for a National Championship?? LOL! Nice system you got there, BCS! I bet Hawaii would put it on whoever the BCS decides to "let in" the big game. Sure, their defense is suspect but that really doesnt matter. Colt Brennan and the Hawaii offense can flat out put alot of points on the board. They can score just as many points as the next team. Hawaii is getting the shaft. And if Ohio State loses to LSU in the title game, will we have another split championship because both teams will only have 2 losses? While Hawaii sits home with an undefeated season. Come on, get real. Get rid of the BCS. (Big Crock of Sh**)

Sportsmans Warehouse finally opened up
....been waiting for SW to open here for a long time and today was the day. I was quite impressed with what I saw, especially in the fishing dept. Good selection of rods....Loomis, All Star (no ASR's yet), St Croix, Daiwa and a HUGE selection of reels although they didnt have the one reel I was really looking for. The Revo Premier. Supposed to be getting them soon. Awesome tackle section, plenty of soft plastics, Reaction Innovations, ZOOM, GYCB, Larew, Venom, Berkley and more. Crankbaits everywhere, Lucky Crafts, Rapala, Storm, Rebel, Bomber etc. Saw some MattLures baits hanging on the pegs too. Excellent selection of terminal tackle and they carry the Picasso Shake Down heads that I had previously only been able to find online. Its certainly not the equivalent of a BPS but seeing as how the fishing tackle stores around here are very limited (Dick's, WalMart, a few small shops) I sure am excited to have SW here in town.

VT beats BC
Yep, Tennessee choked.....well, Ainge choked when he threw that pick. They were in great position to take the game into overtime. Oh well. I'm hoping to see WV and Missouri both lose tonight.

VT beats BC
Tech was fortunate to have come away with the win. The offense looked lethargic at best except for a few key plays. The D was stout as usual. Orange Bowl bound baby!! I was waiting to hear whether you got points taking BC in this thread --->http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1196032828

Rapala DT series
The chartreuse colors are more for stained water. The bluegill pattern is more effective when the bluegills are spawning. Baby bass patterns are best in post spawn when there are all the bass fry leaving the nest.

Kistler rods
Cant do. There are still a couple unanswered questions.

Tried to watch Roland Martin's show last night....
Well folks, today my buddy John and I are fishing Okeechobee for some monster bass. We'll be casting from my brand new Triton TR21X2, man what a nice boat....what do you think John, how do you like this brand new Triton X2? Its real nice Roland. What a great boat, wouldnt you say John? Earl Bentz has done a great job with these new X2's. Yes, its a real nice rig Roland. I figured after we locate some fish with our Humminbird electronics we'll dunk some big 'ol shiners with our Shimano reels and rods. Oh son! John's got a good one on, how big is it John? Its a big one Roland. Oh, thats just a small one John, maybe 7 or 8 pounds.....lets weigh it with the Boga Grip.....folks, these Bogas are the real deal. If you dont have a set, I suggest you get a set before your next trip. They are a little pricey but worth every penny. Oh Son! There's a nice one, I think its just a little bit bigger than yours John but we'll weigh it with the Boga Grips and find out for sure. Yep, these Boga Grips are dead on, I got yours by about 2 pounds.....they're getting better John. Thats what we're looking for Roland. Look John, the rain clouds are breaking up, might as well get out of these Frogg Toggs and put them in the storage box....but you know John, we could actually fit the whole rainsuit in our back pocket if we wanted to because they fold up so well and dont really take up a lot of space at all, although this new Triton X2 has monstrous storage compartments and storing a whole case of Frogg Toggs would be no problem. I agree Roland. Folks, these Frogg Toggs are the real deal, if you dont have Frogg Toggs you're taking a real chance at getting soaked wearing anything else. I recommend you place an order online right away at FroggToggs.com. Good stuff wouldnt you say John? Oh yeah, good stuff Roland. Hey John, can you reach in the glove box and get out the SPF 150 sunscreen? Sure Roland. How do you like that glove box John? Its great Roland. Triton has done a great job with the newly designed glove boxes on these new Triton X2's, what a great boat! What do you think John? Oh yeah, great boat Roland. Oh Son! Get the Boga Grips John!

Another Pawn Shop Bargain
There's only one pawn shop near me that will even pawn rods and reels. To compound the problem, the owner is a former BASS Region champion.....we rarely see anything worth a hoot hit the shelves.

Taxidermy recommendations?
Some places are like that. I have an uncle that lives in Florida and has 3 big bass on the wall, they were all done at the same place and every mount has the exact same paint job as well as same positioning/pose. Sure they look nice and are good replicas but when I saw the pics of the live bass beside the rep's, the paint jobs are WAY OFF on all of them. Sort of takes away the "memory" factor.

Triton going grass roots
That would make sense since they sponsor the BASS poster boy....I hope not but it could happen.

Storm Wiggle Wart?
I think the reason its so popular in that area (Ark-Mo) is that good 'ol boy Mark Davis used to wear 'em out (fish and fisherman) with the Wiggle Wart.....and he probably still does.

The Tail Kicking is ON!
GO PACK!! Make the Cowgirls play at Lambeau in the playoffs! Dome games suck!

The Tail Kicking is ON!
No. Not by a long shot. The NFL Network is only reaching a very minimal amount of TV's anywhere. There is a big battle going on with the NFL and the major TV and cable networks.....its been a hot topic all week on ESPN radio which I listen to 24-7. The next big stink about the NFL Network will be the Patriots final game of the season against the Giants. If the Patriots are going for the undefeated season, you'll definitely be hearing a bunch of people hating on the NFL Network then because hardly anybody will be able to see history being made.

Mary Delgado arrested!
Nothin like a good asshwoopin by your ole lady to get a basser in shape. Word up avid! ;D

Mary Delgado arrested!
Evidently she whopped 'ol Byron a good one.....he's got a 5#+ lead after Day 1 at the Elite Wildcard Qualifier on Okeechobee with a 21+ limit. She should rough him up before every tournament.

Spider Jigs Vs Skirted Jigs
I use a spider jig (hula grub) anytime I want a slower fall, usually when the fish are suspended. Spider jigs are killer around docks. And in my experience, I have found that a bass will hold a spider jig a little longer than a standard jig.....and even if it's only one or two seconds longer, thats huge. In a case where the fish are mostly relating/feeding on the bottom, I like a regular jig/trailer....usually a football head.

Best way to clean up rusty cranks?
Thats very true. I had a Pointer 100 under some hot water just wiping it off by hand and there was like a skin that started peeling off (like when you get sunburned and peel) which I assume peeled off because of the hot water. I'll probably just scrub the LC's with some soap, cold water and a toothbrush. I use VCI strips...they are supposed to keep things from rusting.....but they only work for condensation type water, not the whole box filled up with water like an ice tray. I'll probably try the rice thing as well. Thanks for the suggestions guys, keep 'em coming....I'm about to start cutting off the trebles and cleaning these things up.

Rapala DT series
The first DT's that came out did have weak bills, no doubt about it, I broke several when they first came out. Rapala has rectified that problem and I havent broken one since. They are good cranks.....only real problem I see with them now is that everybody is throwing them and the fish see them alot.

Kistler rods
As an owner of many Kistler rods, some of the Magnesium's do have reel seat issues. I got rid of the Mg's that I bought and continued to buy the Helium LTA's....they are Kistler's "best bang for the buck" in my opinion. Kistler's customer service has been very good so far and I will buy more LTA's, if not LTX's in the future.
