  1. I think cart is wondering why the Japanese lawmakers would be so against having that bass become the world record. It doesnt make sense to me either. Is a bass a trash fish over there?
  2. ....and I send a sincere 'thank you' for this!

  4. FWIW, in my experience with the STX, Premier, and S vs. the Citica and Curado, the Shimanos win the casting distance challenge. Wow, I use nothing but Revo's and my experiences have been just the opposite. My Abu's outcast the Shimano's. How ironic is that?
  5. That sounds like a great plan. Happy Birthday Leo!
  6. Dont believe everything you 'hear'. Ride in one for yourself and see. I won't knock things that I havent tested personally but I will agree that a Champion is hard to beat on smooth ride, but still, you havent been in a Gambler so..... (by the way, a Gambler Outlaw will not give you the ride that a Gambler 2100 or 2200 will.) What are you talking about that looks very very dated? Surely not a Gambler.
  7. Heck, I love 'em already. I've been using the full tail at night for maximum vibration and water movement and cutting the tails during the day in the clear water. The Thumper's are awesome.
  8. I executed #14 with pure mastery about 30 minutes ago. #29 had me rollin'.... Good stuff.
  9. Gamblers are arguably the best built boats on the water. Very, very well built. Everything about a Gambler is top quality....they do not cut corners on anything. Check around with other Gambler owners, the info to support those statements is out there. The G hulls were always 'ahead of their time' and they've only gotten better over the years. But, with any boat that is older than or approaching 10 years old, its a real good idea to check the transom for strength and also make sure all the 'little things' still work. Lights, pumps, all switches, etc, and make sure the motor is in top shape. Spending the money for a compression and leak down test beforehand may save you big money. If it fails the tests, keep walking and dont look back, unless of course, you like buying stuff that needs fixing. Another thing to consider is the paint and gelcoat. The last Gambler I had was a 1992. It started to lose the gel, oxidize and fade out real bad after 14 years. If the gel shows any signs of fading, get ready to do something about it because it happens fast once it initially gets going, especially on darker colors. If the seller is asking top dollar (book price or more) for the boat, it should need nothing done to it at all. Batteries, locks, lights, pumps, trolling motor, electronics....everything should work and the trailer should be issue free as well. If you notice things that will soon need replacing or dont work, start chipping away at his price right away. If it passes all the tests and you think you will be happy with it, I say go for it. I love my Gambler.
  10. I got a few of the fake Pointers in a trade a while back. They are pretty much dead on with the shape/design but the color schemes that were on the baits I got is what I noticed right away. Lucky Craft doesn't have the colors I got in that trade. I guess I need to throw 'em and see what's up....
  11. I guess Tribune just couldn't take it any longer..... http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/9967592/Tribune-to-sell-Cubs,-Wrigley-to-Ricketts-family Completely Useless By September Where you at Burley? Looks like you were outbid by a million or so....
  12. It probably gets fished to death like every other point on every other lake. ;D

5bl you have got to dust of the 78's and start ripping 'em Dude, the 78's attract too many dinks where I'm at. I will throw them every now and then as a last resort after I've run the gamut of 100's and 100DD's that I have.
  14. I agree Matt. The Pack did him wrong. Would they have done that though if he would've refrained from playing the 'I'm retiring, no wait, I want to play again' thing? He's flipped more times than a hamburger at McDonalds. This dominates sports news every offseason and I'm tired of hearing about it. Plus, if he gets hurt or has a bad season, he's bringing down the value of my Brett Favre rookie card for pete's sake.

The 100 is my pick. I'll start the season early with the 100DD's but as the fish come shallower, I switch to the regular 100. I do have some 78's but they barely get used.
  18. Surprise NFL team this year? Raiders - playoffs this year, Super Bowl next year and remember, you heard it here first.
  19. They wont have any problem catching him if he takes off running with it....but then again, they never had any problems with that before, did they? ;D You know, what really gets me is that he's pulling this crap again on the same day the story broke about my boy Tom Cable slugging his defensive assistant. It's the hardest that any Raider has hit anyone in about 5 or 6 years. That's big news right there!
  20. I was a big Favre fan for the longest time but with all this back and forth, it's gone way past 'getting old'. I've lost a lot of respect for the guy. The NFL should just 'Pete Rose' him and be done with it.
