Affliction agreed to a deal with the UFC. Affliction shuts down and comes back to the UFC (selling their clothing). The UFC absorbs all of Affliction's fighter's contracts. Except for Fedor, of course. Who controls his contract? Fedor & Co. are part owners/have interests in M-1 (another fight league) so he is not "in contract" with anyone except himself. Since Affliction folded, Fedor's people now say they are open to discussions with UFC. BUT they want any promotion of Fedor and/or Fedor's fights in the UFC to be co-promoted with the M-1 Series. This means that M-1 will be piggybacking on the UFC's promotion of Fedor. Any mention of Fedor will also include mention of M-1. That could spell trouble when trying to get Fedor. Dana White may not be too keen on the idea of another fight series getting free press that he (UFC) is paying for. Plus, Fedor & Co. like to sign 1 fight contracts. The UFC certainly does not want Fedor to come in on a one fight deal, possibly stomp Lesnar and ride off into the sunset with the HW title to fight somewhere else. I have a bad feeling about the whole situation. We'll see. The UFC is having a press conference on the 31st to announce a few things. I believe one of those things will be that ESPN will start to air some of the UFC's free fights (Fight Night) like Spike does now. Hopefully they'll have some new info on the Fedor situation. I really want to see him destroy Lesnar. Yes, he's in the next series of the Ultimate Fighter reality show. Rumor has it that he gets beat in his first fight. Supposedly someone that was also on the show leaked that info but I dont know whether to believe it or not.

It's hard to say who's going to get him although the Patriots theory sounds like a decent idea. I've heard some talk about it on ESPN. The Raiders sure could use a 'playmaker' and I wouldn't be mad if they signed him. I really hope he comes back strong and does something with this 2nd chance he's been given, no matter who he plays for.

How do you know all of that? Being at certain Elite tournaments I always like to see what baits are laying on the decks of the boats. There are a lot of guys that have senko's laying on deck but at the end of the day, they are always reporting catches on other baits. I'm not saying that there has not been/or will be tournaments won with a senko but the senko is known as being a numbers bait. Numbers baits rarely set you apart from the pack with bigger fish.

Pro's use 'em.....thing is, those guys are so dialed into a specific pattern that they've gone far deeper than just throwing a senko around. They're a couple baits past the senko into a pattern although the senko bite could still be on for some. They've actually got 1 or 2 baits dialed in during the tournament that are drawing more strikes and bigger fish.

Summer hiatus? No way. Night time is the right time. It's still hot and humid but at least you dont have the sun burning holes in your skin.

If you only take one bit of info from this post, this right here ^^ is great advice. This is also how I work deep cranks through the thickest of brush. Reel down and then thread or walk the bait through it with your rod, not your reel. Your crankbait success rate will triple once you learn to do this. The Rage Tail 10" Anaconda has been a big producer for me this year. They've actually worked themselves into a spot in the same storage bin as my Power Bait worms. That's saying a lot. I expect the new Rage Tail Thumper worms to be awesome producers as well.

The Keitech Live Impact worms seem to have that special texture that only a few other baits have....the Yamamoto baits and the Jackall soft baits. Good stuff.

I've been using the Keitech stuff for a couple months now. The Little Spiders are great baits. They are thinner than the typical hula grub and hooksets are not a problem. The tails being so thin make 'em stand straight up when on the bottom too. The tungsten jigs are real nice. Good weedguard, extra sharp hook, tungsten head for maximum sensitivity. I've had some good luck with the Live Impact worm too. They dont have an overpowering smell by any means but the fish wont drop 'em once they grab it. It's definitely got something that the fish like. The Live Impact worm was a very productive bait during the spawn. ExtremeLures.com (a board sponsor) carries Keitech.
