  1. What would you guys consider your go to smallmouth baits? More specifically, when fishing rivers for smallmouth, NOT DEEP WATER
  2. I'm looking to fish a large pond this evening after dark but I have very limited night fishing experience. I wanted to hear from you guys what lures are best for you at night. Pond has some vegetation but that is all the cover it has. 15+ feet deep. Thanks guys!
  3. Since there is so much grass, look for ANYTHING different. Even minor things within the grass like change in bottom type, contour changes, pockets holes and edges in the grass along with other types of cover in the grass like a long stump or an additional type of vegetation. Look for something to is out of the ordinary that would make bass pick that spot over the surrounding grass
  4. How do you guys present your senkos in cold water... 40, 50, and 60 degrees?
  5. With a bait like a fluke, Under what conditions and time of year do you have the most success?
  6. Hands down the Chigger Craw for me, awesome bait with awesome action, it really attracts quality bites
  7. Yes they absolutely will.
  8. Anyone know where to get one? Knowing the water temp would help a ton since I don't have a fish finder I'm desperate and having one would be great!
  9. Are you guys doing the open?
  10. From my experience and thoughts/experience from you guys, it seems that a lot of the same lures work for both of these fish such as senkos, spinnerbaits, lipless crankbaits, tubes, jerk baits etc.... BUT, what lures have you found only really work for smallmouth and NOT largemouth? And vise versa
  11. Curious if anyone else does CrossFit on here!
  12. Love the walking dead!
  13. My parent got my one, I think it'll be a stealthy way to get into tight spots and fish small ponds/lakes. Anyone use one? Advice would be appreciated
  14. I have caught an overwhelming majority of my largemouth on tubes. I can say that whenever I have no idea what the fish are doing, I will tie on a tube and have confidence that it will produce. It is a phenomenal bait that can be fished a lot of ways to catch a lot of largemouth.
  15. I agree with the weather channel on that. Typically stable weather produces a stable bite. Just before a storm the fish can be very aggressive and even during the storm. But afterwards the fish shut down and it takes a while for them to come back on. You can catch them it's just harder, their strike zones shrink and they hold tight to cover
  16. I couldn't have said it better myself. I'm like you and unlike most because I fish with the least weight I can get away with. I fish shallow alot and prefer the lighter baits for a more natural presentation, look, and feel
  17. Wow neat! I live in Cranberry PA
  18. T-Rig it and fish it just like a ribbontail worm!
  19. A lot of you fish jigs, but there are so many ways to fish them. What is your favorite retrieve/presentation with the jig? Do you... Pitch and flip it, drag it on the bottom, swim it, hop it, shake it, etc...
  20. How'd the tournaments go today guys?
  21. I've done a lot of late spring and summer fishing with the Rapala floating minnows. Always in the gold shiner/minnow color. Anytime I have flats or shorelines that have a moderate amount of grass/weeds and when the water is slightly stained I will use it. In these conditions it often produces. I always work it really erratically, jerking and reeling it all the way in, never just straight winding.
  22. One of the benefits to a kayak is getting into shallow spots most people cant go... but what if you want to fish deeper water such as ledges, points, channels and you dont have a depth finder. AND you dont have a map of the lake. How can you find these structures as well as deep grass and brush piles without a map or depthfinder? Anybody willing to share some tricks would be appreciated
  23. Such as the Zoom Fluke or Yum Houdini shad, what are your guys favorite soft plastic jerkbaits? What colors? How do you fish them and when is it a go to? Moderator note: I tried to send you a PM about moving this post, but your inbox is full. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  24. Most guys prefer spinning rods for drop shotting... but I dont like the spinning rods I own and was wondering if anyone drop shots with a light baitcaster? Anyone like it or do it?
