I took the wife and nieces out to fish today. Who would have thought she would have shown up.

For me it works ok but there are better options out there. The Brush head is my absolute favorite for trees!

This very thing happened to a buddy and I last weekend. I tried the rogue, Crank, etc. The lure we ended up with was a shaky head with a grub for my bud and a rage craw shaky head.

Get use to it!!! It happens to me all the time now. Any more I consider it a successful trip when she catches more then me. Congrats to you both on a great trip.

About 4 yrs ago I did this very thing with my now wife. She did the bluegill thing years ago but had never bass fished. I took the roll of teaching her the basics of casting a bait caster and spinning rod. I helped guide her along but let her do most of the work. She now likes baitcasters 100 times more then spinning rods and fishes with me all day. The best advice I can give is coach and help but to not boss. Show excitement and support.

Yup for the follow up jig it or plastics. If the fish are lethargic, just jig it.

That is what I was going to post, and a jig.

In the cold water I will use a Cosmic Chunk. As the water warms I will use a Cosmic Craw and Rage Craw/Chunk

Thats real close. I do my best in keeping that time frame accurate. I'm working even harder to shorten that tail end.

A football shaky head with a rage craw on it. This little set up kept the skunk out of the boat Saturday.

My jigs and spinnerbaits with Rage Craws and plastics are my favorites.
