Worm And Jig Rod Sensitivity
Absolutely, I remember many years ago the first time I fished braid and a 3/8 oz jig . I was setting the hook like crazy thinking every rock was a bite, my tourney partner thought I was nuts until he picked up my rod and fished it.

Tackle Warehouse Does It Again
Absolutely love TW but I will also say that I also have had the note left at door indicating that signature needed. I honestly believe that total amount purchased must be the deciding factor. If I remember correctly $200 or under I was fine , but $400 a signature was needed. On the $400 order they actually called and said someone was needed to sign and I was jacked. When I questioned the policy, customer service was like well do you wanna cancel the order, and I think I accepted liability. I purposely keep the total around $200 to make sure the stuff is left at my door. As much as I don't care for BPS they have never refused to leave a package at my door regardless of value. I also need to recommend Ron at Valley sports great prices and speedy shipping and left at my door.

Best Lake In Your State
Lk Erie for numbers and giant smallies. The largie fishing in the bay aint too shabby either.

Interesting Observation
Absolutely, even the newbies starting out think they need $ 400.00 combos to catch bass. I for one enjoy what the sport has turned into, and at 45 years old have watched the progression, and I am enjoying the ride.

Line For Jig Rod
I really like the way you think, and I think a lot of people can benefit by your post. I use various types of line , braid , mono ,copolymer ,fluoro, and use them where they will be to my advantage. The first time I hung up fishing a jig on a roadbed (16 lb. sunline fluoro) I realized I couldn't reasonably break my line without kinking the rest of the line on my spool. Pitching jigs in the weeds wouldn't be a problem with this line, but hard cover I hated it. I now use line in various strengths that are appropriate for the style of fishing and conditions that I am fishing. When I need to break off that's what I want to do without creating weak spots by kinking my fluoro.

Which Company Does It Best
Interesting question, and absolutely there must be a rod company whose heavy, really fishes heavy etc...etc. Probably everyone on this board has rods that were bought via the internet and thinks , this is supposed to handle 1 oz baits and it doesn't fish that way. We all know rods manufactured by different companies can be totally different ,there are no set standards, would be great if they were. I fish loomis, dobyns, powell, st. croix and I have no answer, but surely there should be.

What Is The Worst Thing You've Ever Eaten?
Same situation but dad forced us to eat it , you ate what Mom cooked he would say. I can still picture my brother and me sitting at the table trying to eat that crap. My brother took two bites and blew chunks across the table ! That was the last time liver was ever on the menu LOL

Point Me In The Direction Of A Good Line
I use p line cxx in 6 and 10 lb. I use 6 on spinning reels and its never let me down. If it was unmanageable it would be in the trash. I actually am considering buying it in 3000 yrd spools quite economical compared to most lines.

Sucka
I believe it is called the "hound dog" lure retriever and I think bps sells them .It is heavy lead that you attach a cord to and has coils that you attach your line to. It works rather well and for every 2 crankbaits it saves me, it pays for itself. It is always in my boat.

Favorite Night Fishing Lures And Techniques
I couldn't agree more, although a heat wave didn't really play into my success. I will say I experienced the same 3 to 4 lb avg fish with a few 5 lbers thrown in. I know that big fish are active at night and fish were caught relatively shallow, less than 10 ft on 10 inch black powerworms. I think my lake choice and water clarity were important. I fished lakes at the time in New Jersey that had lighted boat docks and where pleasure boaters ruled the day. After sundown until first light the big fish came out to feed. As sunrise approached the bigger fish shutdown and I would leave while other anglers were eagerly ready to start the day. I would think to myself , if they only knew what I caught last night ! Its important to note that this was the norm and not a one night event.

Leftie Or Rightie
I gotta tell ya , try casting with both eyes open, it wont matter

Sucka
I don't mind spending that kinda coin on lucky craft. I have a lure retriever that's paid for itself every time I hit the water. Now I cant control the toothy critters (musky, pike, bowfin) but you made an excellent purchase .

Leftie Or Rightie
I am right handed and fish all lefty reels. It just seems natural to set the hook with your dominant hand. I would actually love to be able to fish righty or lefty for the days tendonitis makes even holding the rod painful, kinda like a switch hitter so to speak.

Thanks for the reply , what didn't you like about the 400 g that you owned ?

Blade Baits
Last year at ice out, water temp at 35, my tourney partner and I learned a valuable lesson. Bladed baits flat out produce in cold water. We normally open up the tourney season at the same lake every spring, and while pre fishing boated more fish on blades than we ever did with the old standard lipless cranks, jigs, and jerkbaits. If the ice on our lakes in Pa. ever decide to go away, a blade bait will be my #1 presentation in the first tourney of year no doubt.

Costa 580 G Vs Costa 400 G Green Mirror Advice
I currently own a pair of the grey lenses in 580 p and want to upgrade to a glass lens. I have read that the green mirror is a good cloudy to sunny lens, and want to buy these in 400 g or 580 g. fathom frame. If anyone has owned both , is the price difference between them worth it ? In addition, is the "upgrade" to glass worth it?
