Revo S Noise
Most likely it's the plastic anchor that holds the centrificul drag weights is cracked. Its a common problem in the revo S. The replacment part is about $4.bucks. Open the side cover, there it is. It's black and about the size of a quarter or a little smaller. The crack will be very small to start with, it will get worse and you'll begin to backlash alot. good luck

Enough Truck?
My neighbor and fishing partner had the same truck as you. He finally traded for a V8. You'll probley be "OK" with your 6cyl unless you have any steep or long hills. Be prepared to hear your motor screeming as it downshifts. Also you will burn as much or more gas than you would with a small V8.

Culling Beam
I have used Bass Pro Shops XPS culling beam for years. I know a 1/16 oz jig will tip it. Prior to that I just used a scale for culling. I'm sure the scale cost me some money over the years. This past saturday I finished 10th place in the cabelas tournament on bays de noc. 10th place you go the the championship. 11th place you stay home and wish you finished 10th. I used my culling beam on several close fish. My weight was 18.63lbs, 11th place was 18.62 lbs. Good luck, fish hard, have fun

The Big Ones
After 50 yrs of bass fishing and hundreds of tournaments the quick answer is Yes they act differant, and yes they (most often)are in a differant area. Perhaps they may be close but not right with the smaller age class fish. For Bigger largemouth I typically fish a little deeper and a little slower than where I'm catching 2lb fish. A bigger bait oftens times helps also. For bigger smallies I try to find shallow water close to deep water. They live deep but feed shallow.

Cxx Is Out, Now What?
Several years ago I made the same switch for the same reasons. After trying many lines I've settled on yo-zuri ultra soft for my 12lb. applications and seguar InvizX 15 lb.for all my 15lb applications. Both lines are very user friendly with the yo-zuri being a little softer, the invisX more abrasive resistant.

Need New Depth Finder
Thank you all again for your replies. I'm pretty settled on the 597 CI HD, now I just have to decide where on line to buy it from. I'm open to suggestions on this also. As far as mounting transducer above water line for protection; where I beat-up my transducers is getting into thick wood and backing into junk when trying to get back out. For me it's worth the cost of a tranducer every couple years if I can get a few big bites where other guys won't go. So where do you all shop to get your electronics on line? Thanks again, Bruce

Where To Buy Reel Parts
Before the "buy a shimano, buy a diawa" chants start let me say I have several of each. What I'm looking for is a place to buy parts for a Revo S, it belongs to my son. I called pure fishing and talked to abu service and they didn't have it in stock and didn't know when they would get it. They then sugested I try a reel repair shop for the part I need. I'm looking for the small plastic ring/anchor on the spool that holds the casting weights. Does anyone here know of a reputable reel repair on where I might be able to buy parts for the revo? Thanks I appreciate the help

Need New Depth Finder
Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to reply and give me transducer saving advise, I will for sure try and protect it much better in the future. However no one as of yet has given me any input as to a make or model that fits in with my original post asking for advise. It's difficult to go look at a store, the nearest place is 75 miles and it's a gander mtn. The sales people there no more about piano playing and golf than they do about marine electronics. Thanks again

Need New Depth Finder
It's time to replace the lorance X85 that I bought in 1997. I loved the sensitivity and clearness. The screen has been getting empty areas for a couple years and now I ripped the transducer cable in half on a stump. It's time for an upgrade. Side scan is not an option , I'm too rough on transducers (I fish stumps and wood ALOT). I trust and value the opinions and advice I've gotten from the good people on this forum, so again I'm seeking help. I'm looking for a depth finder with or without gps that gives a good downward display of whats on the bottom and will also display baitfish. I'm looking to spend $400 to $600. I've had humming bird, Eagle, and Lorance in the past and was pleased by them all. I'm not brand loyal but do need something pretty durable. I fish like I have 4 wheel drive. Please let me know what you all have on your boats and how you like them. Thank you all for taking time to read this post. I hope to see some replys soon.I need to buy in a couple weeks at the latest. Thanks again

Turnover
I live in Michigan's U.P. In the early spring water goes from warmer at the bottom to warmer at the top. Late fall water goes from warmer at the top to warmer at the bottom. It doesn't much affect the way I fish Bass or much affect my success. It does give me an excuse for not catching walleye the few times I fish for them. That's the simple version without getting into light refraction, photosynthesis, PH. levels, or oxygen levels. Always fish when you get the chance. Don't worry about turn over. Good fish'n

Re: Pike or line break?
My guess it's pike. I fish where there are ALOT of pike. I have 50lb power pro on my frog rod. More often than not the pike cut the braid like Sharp scissors, and no resistance felt. I always hope they choke to death on my spro frogs.

Jig on straight braid?
Jigs and Frogs in thick cover or dirty water, direct to 50 lb power pro green. Get a lure retriever though, 50 lb p.pro can be tough to break when snagged. T-Rig I use flouro.

Source for Discontinued baits ?
Bear; I'm looking for 4"power noodles and 5" beasts. I was told by Berkley they were both discontinued. Wayne P and Avon John, thank you for your input also, both Ebay and google were my first searches before I bothered the good folks here on the forum. I did find a few places thru google and bought what they had. E-Bay did not have the colors I'm looking for. You are right though, Google is my friend; so are the good folks at "Bass resource.com" Thanks again for your input. Good Fishn'

Source for Discontinued baits ?
It seems as well as new baits coming out every year, bait companies are discontinuing some old favorites. Specifically I'm speaking of soft plastics, but it applies to many of our "go to stuff ". I'm looking for a couple different "Berkley Power Baits". Does anyone know of any "on-line" outlets or tackle companies I could check out ? I'm open to any ideas. Thanks for your help. Good Fishn'

St. Croix Mojo feedback
I had a couple mojo's, I gave them away. I also have several Avids that are my favorite rods. I also have, and fish several different grades of Gander Mtn. rods. The Gander line of rods are all very good at each price point. The titanium rod is light, sensitive, and has a much faster tip than the mojo does.

Softer baits question
Does anyone know of a way to "soften" existing soft plastic baits so they are softer than they come from the factory? Specifically speaking of berkley power baits. Some colors are softer than others and I'd like to soften them up just a little. Thanks, Bruce

Softening soft plastics question
This isn't to bash any brand, and it's not to look for a different brand of soft plastics. I use many many different brands. In this case though I'm speaking mainly about Berkley power baits. I have several colors of 10"worms. Some colors are consistently softer than others. Red Shad for instance is softer than Black or Red Bug. My question to you all is; does anyone know of a way to permanently "soften up" plastic baits softer than they come from the factory? Thank you all for any help you can give Good Fishn'
