State Vs State - Episode 6
Was more about the trolling, not live bait.

Favorite Hardbaits?
First, the KVD 1.5 and RedEye are killer baits, fish seen them or not. There isn't another rattle bait out there that sinks horizontally, let alone wiggle on the way down. People listed their favorite baits. If they are the favorites, obviously they work. They are not the favorite because a famous pro endorses them. Second, promotion will get you hyped up and buy the baits, but if they didn't work, would you list them as a favorite? That being said, I'm really starting to like the XR50 OneKnockers which are a little something different. To each his own.

For some reason they are hard to find lately. Good thing I've got a few. Probably find them on ebay.

Carolina Rig...floating Senko?
Buy a couple bags of Strike King Zero's. Soak them in water until they float. They lose their salt and will float. Just gave myself a good idea. Thanks for starting this thread drew.

Lew's Reel Cleanings
I usually get two reels done on my lunch hour. Just did my new Lews BB1 Pro and was surprised how much grease was on the bearings. Cleaned and lubed everything and now can't wait to try it! Might have come from overseas and grease is a good thing on the bearings. As long as you know it's there and clean it up before use.

What's Your Favorite Fluke/soft Jerkbait?
Caffeine Shad. Great jerkbait action and wiggles like a senko on the fall.

Wacky Riggins Senkos With "o" Rings
I guess I can see why a tool is needed if you are using 1/4" I.D. O-Rings. Most senko type baits have an O.D. Of .375" +/- .015". If you use 5/16"' (.312"), 8.5 MM (.340") or 3/8" (.375") just wet the pointed end and slide it on. I can see how you could tear up a senko trying to squeeze on a 1/4" O-Ring on it. Also, I've posted several times before that I use two and cross them and inert the hook through where they cross so it is 90 degrees to the bait. Works for me and everyone else I have shown it to. But as always, use whatever you have confidence in and you will be better off.

Clear Water Experts...
I think Tom's post was pretty good. The reason being fast moving or erratic baits will not give the fish much time to look at the bait and think about it. Can't help with smallmouth though. Not too many of them in Northern Ill. Try skipping baits up under docks or pontoon boats if there are any. As shallow as a foot or two. You'll be surprised. Anything thats non-translucent works well for this. Senko type baits, tubes, Ikas all work.

How Long Do Soft Plastics Stay Good?
I like Rogers post. Mine stay good till a fish tears it up

Wacky Riggins Senkos With "o" Rings
Like BMG above said, I like the hook at 90 degrees to the bait, not parallel. Been using two and crossing them for years with no issues. No tool needed. Just wet the pointed end of the bait and slide it on. Can't see why you would need a tool but that's an individual choice. Please explain quote above. I used my brain to get a simple round elastic ring on a soft round bait without having to spend an extra cent. If you need a tool that's fine. Insulting people that don't accomplishes little. Big Money Grip- Did you get that name from an episode of Sanford and Son? Was one of my favorite all time shows. I get mine from an industrial supply house like McMaster Carr or Grainger for next to nothing. http://www.mcmaster.com/#o-rings/=rbnna0 Depending on bait you will need 5/16", 3/8", or 9mm

Don't Throw A Spinnerbait On A Crankbait Rod!!!
Like the others, I doubt it was the rod. And if you can sweep it five feet and the lure doesn't move, you must be using a long piece of spaghetti.

Rapala Thug

Stupid Question
Bass Pro makes their own model. If it says 370 or 3700 its the same thing. http://www.***.com/Plano_ProLatch_Utility_Box_3700/descpage-PPLUB3700.html Not too hard to find.
