Guys With Boats...We Need Your Help
Pickwick is a fun lake. I'd be there if it wasn't my exam week, last one of my life thank God. A month ago my friend was there and they caught a 8lb smallie. I'll be going to Guntersville the week after though.

Rapala Shad Rap
I like a #7. I drill two holes between the front hook hanger and the bill and put two small split shot weights in them. It suspends perfectly and makes it a lot easier to throw on baitcasting gear. I like them in all sizes though.

Older Long As?
Bought a '79/'80 model last night on eBay. It's definitely a confidence thing but to me that's the most important thing in bass fishing.

Older Long As?
What exactly is the difference in the new and old ones? I read that the rattles are louder in the old ones but is there anything else?

Older Long As?
What is the difference between today's Long As and the older models? Why do the people that wake these prefer the older ones? Why do people say screwtail in eBay listings? Is this how you can tell the difference? Mainly, how can I tell the difference if I order off of eBay?

How to tell the difference between new and old model Rebel Wee R's?

How to tell the difference between new and old model Rebel Wee R's?
How can I tell the difference between the older model and the newer model Wee R's? I'm particularly looking to see the difference in the packaging.

buckeye su spin 4 bass
I was doing exactly what you have described earlier this week. I had a 1/2oz Su Spin with a 4" Money Minnow. I was fishing it on bluff walls and I was doing decent on it. My problem with it was that the hook is too small. It may do okay with a smaller swimbait. Did just as good with a Fluke instead of a swimbait last week though.

Speed clips .!?
My buddy was using a Speed Clip a few weeks ago and had a lure come off. The lure got stuck in the grass and when he worked it out the lure came off the snap. I use them a lot but not when ripping the lure out of grass is involved.

Removing the rattles from a lipless crankbait
I wrote this in another thread but figured it would fit here too. "Spots are also my number one lipless. You can turn them into three different baits with a drill and some epoxy. You can fish them as is, turn them into a one knocker or make them silent. To make it a one knocker drill a hole behind the hook hanger on the bottom and put a little epoxy in it. Same thing for the silent but add another hole in front of the hook hanger. Just make sure to let the weight rest on the bottom when the epoxy is setting up so it stays balanced. One of my favorite baits for shallow, clear water is a silent 1/4oz. Spot."

Just insane!!!!
Painting lures has paid a lot of my way through college. I look at it as selling confidence. Some see it as a waist of money and some see it as an edge. Fishing is kind of like religion in a way. You can't disprove religion and a lot of things will never be proven or disproved in fishing because we'll never really know what a fish thinks.

Lake Insight or Hot Spot Card?
If you had to pick between the two. Would you prefer Lake Insight or a Hot Spots card that covered all the lakes you fished. I don't really know the differences between them.

Fish Arrow IT Jack Wooden Swimbait
Will do. I have been reading on other sites that they have durability issues as well.
-
Fish Arrow IT Jack Wooden Swimbait
If you're talking to me I sure didn't take any offense.
-
Fish Arrow IT Jack Wooden Swimbait
The thing started out at $125 but now you can get them for $30 or so. I would definitely call it a swimbait. I have plenty other swimbaits I just can't find any reviews of this one.

Fish Arrow IT Jack Wooden Swimbait
This is the one I got. I plan on painting it. Got it for $6.

Fish Arrow IT Jack Wooden Swimbait
Has anyone used this bait? Any good? I got one for a ridiculous deal.

crankbaits: when to use a tight wobble vs. a wide wobble in spring?
I like to start the day off with one of each, no matter what the conditions are. Something like a Wiggle Wart and a Shad Rap. The fish will usually let you know what they want.

Thad's Boat Project (Any ideas?)
Well I got my trolling motor fixed. All it needed was a new switch. I'll be on spring break this coming week so I plan to fix my boat up finally. My question right now is where should I put my trolling battery? In the front, back, middle?

HDS-5 v. HDS-5x
What exactly is the difference between the two? Is it just that the x doesn't have GPS?

save phace on sale at TW!!!
Understandable, makes sense.

save phace on sale at TW!!!
Just a question, not saying anything bad about Save Phace masks. Why would anyone prefer a $50+ Save Phace maske over something like a full face motorcycle helmet? I just ask because I feel they provide better comfort, especially in the colder months, and they offer more protection. Plus you can get them for $25 or less on eBay or at a pawn shop. Just curious to what their advantage is, unless it is just a "cool" thing to have which I would understand. Everyone has their own preferences.

Treated wood in Aluminum Bass Tracker and Carpet ???
So it is better to buy untreated wood and seal it yourself?

Need two depth finders.
You guys helped out with my dad's depth finder a couple weeks ago. I'm looking for two for myself now. First one I would like to have is a color depth finder with GPS. I would like to stay around $500, no more than $600. The second one would just be a depth finder with no GPS. $250 or less for this one.
