I'm trying. I'm afraid to fish these beauties with those musky swimming around in there.

    Mixing automotive paints.
  3. If you can't get them out from the bottom with pliers try taking a small nail or something that you can set on top of the pin and try to hit it and break it free.

    My new Magic Shad pattern:
  5. They are definitely heavier then a senko or yum dinger.
  6. The problem is that they install the pin and then clear coat the lure. At least that is my observation. The first one I got I pulled the pin out with pliers and the top of the bait chipped off.
  7. Big M's are great. I love the M Flats for all the clear water there is around me. Just ordered some of the 12' and 14' flat sides, can't wait to get them. Big M is one of the nicest guys you could deal with too. Here's a 4' M Flat that he made and I painted:
  8. I've had my eye on that KVD rod. I can get it for $90 so I may go with it.
  9. Talking about 7'6" to 8'. What rods do you prefer?
  10. How did it go this weekend? We, Radford, weren't able to make it to this event. We'll have three teams at the remaining events.
  11. Coming from someone that is making his living right now on custom paints, :. I feel like bmadd got it right. I custom paint lures and the ones that make a difference, both financially and fish catching, are the ones on jerkbaits and swimbaits. I also notice a difference on some of the cold water, tight action cranks like Shad Raps. Remember I fish a lot of clear water here in Virginia. Clear Water + Slow Moving Lure + High Pressure = Need for more detail. That's my experience anyways. It also adds confidence for me which can be greater than anything else. Thad
  12. Never mind, haha. I thought those scales looked familiar. I bought that scale tape a long time ago. I found it just now. I might have to give it a try, it looks good on yours.
  13. my mistake buzzcathcer. I meant the 4th one, the images weren't finished loading when I asked the question. Thad
  14. I think they look great. What are those scales on that second one?
  15. My college fishing club is looking for any upcoming outdoor shows. We live in Southwestern Virginia, anything remotely close could be considered. I know we just missed the big one in Richmond.
  16. Don't see anything wrong with it. Wish I had some fish over here though that would eat that big thing.
  17. I bought some at the beginning of last year. Never did use them. They are kind of like the Strike King 3X stuff. I'd say they would catch fish, but you could probably do just as good with a big floating worm, a lot cheaper anyway.

Hey, I live not too far from you and my tournament partner and I have done good on the x-raps when we're fishing for smallmouths in lakes around you. If we're targeting largemouth we usually go to a pointer or rogue. Looking forward to trying the McSticks though this year.
  19. Well I've been trying to get my own boat for awhile now. I wanted something I could take on some of the local small lakes and the New River. My dad has a nicer bass boat for the bigger lakes. My mom and her husband got me an old 1993 v-bottom with a 6 HP on it. Don't even no the make of it but it's perfect and can't wait to work on it. Needs a lot done to it but couldn't have asked for anything better. I was pretty shocked that I got it. I haven't really gotten anything since I graduated high school a few years ago. Still trying to get that tournament boat but this is more practical for me while I'm in college. Oh, and my girlfriend got me a few fishing dvds, along with some clothes.
  20. Looks good from what I can tell.
  21. For $20 I would get the Spro BBZ-1 Shad.

I got what you meant. I actually used transparent for the bars. You can tell it's transparent in person. Maybe I went to dark on them. Right now I just sell them on eBay. I'm working on my website and should have it up around Christmas. I'm also working to get a deal with a couple tackle shops at the time.

I intended on making them bigger. The stencil looked bigger I thought. Yea, that's iridescent purple on the sides.
