Address? J/K, I have a hard enough time letting them go when I sell them. :'(

I promise I'll quit after this one. I just liked it and had to post it. It's like a father showing off their kids. When this thing hits the water the iridescent colors are really going to stand out.

If you mean the inside where the joints are, I really don't worry about it too much. My over spray usually gets it.

Well I don't think I can do much better than this. My artistic ability is tapped out.
  5. I was just looking around on the internet and was going to thebbz(.)com and got a pop up that was asking me to check for viruses and get free antivirus software. This is the same pop-up that had a virus which just cost my friend $200 to have removed last week. As soon as the pop-up showed up I just shutdown my pc manually by holding in the button. If you get a pop-up like this don't hit the cancel option, just shut it down. I figured I would share since this in an online fishing community and there is a good chance one of us may go there. I would guess the owners of the site will find out and fix it when they can.
  6. Not only do they have big bass... I was down there this summer for the first time since I was a little kid. Let's just say I'm not very "Florida Smart". We were staying on Disney's camper resort and I went down to the lake just about everyday. The place that I found to fish was covered by high grass on the sides so I WADED out about 20 or 30 feet. Well my last day their I saw an alligator laying in my little fishing spot. I know there are alligators in Florida but I just figured Disney managed them in their resorts.

Good call Thad, I keep this thread in my "Favorites", too. 8-) I've built up a rather large favorites list on this site and I would say 3/4 of them have come from your helpful posts like this. Thanks

There is a lot of information on this topic already. Just use the search function on the site. Here's one to start with: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1143177139/0

I tried to do some green scales but couldn't get a good green to go over it. My transparent green just doesn't look very good. I tried mixing some different greens together but just got frustrated. I'll go back at it again tomorrow and find a good hue. Thanks for the suggestions, I knew I didn't like this completely. If I can get some scales going on it I think it would almost be perfect.

Yea, it turned out to look a lot like my perch yellow. I plan to lighten it up some on the next one.
  11. On your shakey heads do you prefer the screw lock on them or the ones that just have the barb on the shank?

Ok, don't know if I like it or not. Let me know what you think. By the way, the blue doesn't look like that at all in person. The blue looks weird in the picture.
  13. If that pheromone stuff worked I would just buy the scent in the bottle and use it on other plastics.
  14. I just found the GLX Mag Bass Series. Can tell me the difference between the GLX Mag Bass and the GLX Jig and Worm Series?
  15. Well I've been looking at the GLX Jig and Worm rods and can't decide on one. I want it to be versatile but have enough backbone to fish a 1/2 oz. jig in 20 foot of water. Trying to decide between these: GLX Jig & Worm Cast 853 7'1" Med Hvy GLX Jig & Worm Cast 854 7'1" Heavy
  16. I have some worm and jig rods. Looks like I may be selling them. I may hold on the swimbait rod for now. We're fortunate to have this opportunity. Right now we're talking with Shimano, we should know something in the next couple days with them.
  17. The less visibility you get into you may want to start thinking less about color and think more about sound and sent. Just go with a dark jig and add a rattle and some scent like Mega Strike's.

I was at BassPro a few weeks ago in Alabama and some pro, didn't even know who he was, was doing a tank demo and was going on and on about a jig with a finesse worm as a trailer. Even he said he didn't know what the fish thought it was but it caught him fish.
  19. You can buy them unpainted off of www.do-itmolds.com.
  20. Well our fishing team here at Radford finally got our first big sponsor. While it's not a lot it's a good start. They are allowing each member to buy two rods at 50% off. I think I'm going to go with an all around cranking rod and a smaller swimbait rod. For the crankbait I think I'm going to go with the: G. Loomis Crankbait Casting 843 7' Med. It looks like a good versatile crankbait rod rated for 1/4oz to 5/8oz lures. My favorite way to crank is to crash a RC 1.5 or 2.5 into brush. This rod should work for this, right? For the Swimbait rod I want something that I can throw smaller swimbaits. I think the biggest I would throw would be a Huddelston 6". I would also like to use this for my bigger cranks and bigger spinnerbaits if possible. We can only carry 5 rods so some of them have to double up. I'm looking at their smallest swimbait rod: G. Loomis Swimbait Rod 904 7'6" Med Hvy. It rates for 1/2oz to 3oz. That seems about perfect for what I want it for. Let me know if you have any better suggestions for what I'm trying to accomplish.

  22. You can watch all the classic episodes from 1971 to now on bassmasters.com. You have to be a BASSInsider though.
  23. One of the best crankbait colors for nearly any condition is chartreuse blue back. My go to bait though in stained to muddy water has been the RC 1.5 in Chartreuse Perch.
  24. I had a local car guy mix some up for me. It is really expensive paint. I'm working on some more colors too.
  25. thats the way i see it. i dont care about bait ethics or anything, three qualities determine if i'll buy a bait: good price, good quality, catches fish. Now I know you're into making baits. You're saying that if you work hard to make something and then someone else just goes and copies it and then sells it for less, which puts you out of business. You woudln't care?
