  1. The only "Factor" I believe to be totally true regarding when the Pre-spawn actually begins is; It always seems to starts much earlier than I expect it to. A-Jay
  2. Something we may have already known but was blatantly apparent if you watched any of this years Classic coverage, the names anglers use for various types of structure & cover appears to be almost totally dependent on where they usually fish and seems to have very little to do with an actual "definition". I've been doing this for a while now and I'm still not exactly sure what a drain, or a ditch or even a draw actually is, or if I've ever caught a fish off one . . . . A-Jay
  3. I'm a very satisfied repeat customer myself. A-Jay
  4. Way to tough it out ~ Nice Bass Congrats A-Jay
  5. Interesting & I agree. I'd put that one in the "Totally Unnecessary" category. Never would have guessed - Pumping in Canned Drag - MLF is taking lessons from the NFL now. A-Jay
  6. You know you're right Boats - We called the 44 "The Men's Boat" - you weren't going any where fast but you knew you could get there . . . and more importantly, get back. 28 years worth but I managed to avoid major injury though the threat was very real & always there. A-Jay
  7. Me Too ~ Like nails against the Chalkboard ! After an afternoon of drop shot fishing and spinning the reel against the drag like that over & over, I have to think that there will be at least some time spent later spinning that twisted mess off and winding on new line. A-Jay
  8. Nearly five decades of bass fishing has taught at least 3 things; 1). The tackle used in days gone by still catches bass 2). Some of the newer tackle & techniques also catch bass and often times I prefer them & 3) Apparently, I'm funny. A-Jay
  9. "Integrity Is Your Most Important Asset" "Speeches are not plans" "The Harder I work, the luckier I get" ~ Samuel Goldwyn A-Jay
  10. I fixed that for you A-Jay
  11. How many times do we have to tell you - The Senko is not a Jerk Bait . . . . A-Jay
  12. "Can you use a monofilament line for crankbaits ?" The short answer is Yes. A more complete answer revolves around understanding that just like the rods & reels we use, your line is a tool. Rarely does one tool work for every job. This is the case when discussing line choice for any technique including throwing a crank bait. Everyone has their own method and what works for them - meaning there's no definitive right answer. I do like mono for cranking in some open water situations, usually 12 or 14 lb.test. I also like braid for some of that too. I do not like mono when working in, around or through aquatic vegetation where I like to be able to rip the bait out with authority and mono just doesn't work well there; Braid gets it done. There are other situations depending on the type of conditions you're faced with and the type of crank bait your fishing. So there's a little something to consider. A-Jay
  13. I hear that Paul. I believe in the big fish power of the jig and I throw it a lot. And once I started tossing that rig around & began to understand just how truly versatile it is, that time doubled. And so did my average fish size. A-Jay

  17. Though I Clicked that I liked this - I really don't. A-Jay
  18. Nice work Paul - You're loving that rig . . . . A-Jay
  19. Kevin will get you one - A-Jay
  20. Sweet - but this one's going to be tough. Always tricky trying to guess a weight. So the question is do you guess the same weight every day or do you pick a different weight for each daily entry ?? Or I could just go buy a rod . . . A-Jay
  21. This is something I can definitely utilize. Fly fishing in lowlight conditions early & late in the day and even after dark, changing flies is a challenge for me, even with magnified readers (glasses). I'm going to try it. Thank you for posting it. A-Jay
  22. Hello Dan and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  23. Wow ~ ! You have to admit, that was impressive. All the training, all the sacrifice, and all the Hype . . . and it's over in just about the same amount of time that it takes me to tie a Palomar . . . . I hope there's a rematch. I do believe Mr. White may have to start handicapping Ms. Rousey's fights here in the future, just to make them somewhat competitive. Perhaps sending two fighters in against the this Champion could at least prolong the fight a bit, although I think the outcome may still be the same. This Lady is a Beast. A-Jay
  24. Good Eye. That is a 68 - it's all I fish because it's all I have left. The Gator Pike ate all my 8's A-Jay
  25. The Cool Pre-dawn Mist. How good the Lake looks at sunrise when it's Flat Calm. Watching a frog bait get hammered in the pads. The Tremendous but subtle thump of a night time jig bite. And best of all, the smile on my wife's face, when the Big Ones finally in the net. A-Jay
