I do fish extremely clear water up here - but don't use any Fluorocarbon line or leaders. Standard procedure here does usually require a drop in line size to get bit, especially for smallmouth. It's one of the reasons I fish a lot at night in the summer - takes all that out of the equation. Just can't wrap my mind around bright yellow braid unless I have a 25 foot leader A-Jay
