  1. Because your current location offers you a much needed buffer zone from four of the five members who responded to you . . . . A-Jay
  2. Pronominal Photograph ~ ! Looks like perhaps this picture was take with an "Action Camera" like a GoPro - as the fisheye lens seems to have opened up the view a bit - Either way - It's a Great Bass . . . . I love it. A-Jay
  3. Basically, I need a jig to work through different types of cover, possess fish attracting qualities and be of sufficient construction to hold up against the rigors of the technique. I've tried a few different types & styles with a variety if results. Haven't tried them all as there are just too many. However, once I started fishing this type rig, I stopped looking. This one does everything I need a jig to do. Very Versatile. A-Jay

  5. I definitely like the vertical storage method. I get the most bang for the buck. A-Jay
  6. I can not dispute the strength of a properly snelled hook, used them for years for many saltwater applications. There are at least a handful of knots that when tied correctly, will for offer similar performance. When I miss a fish while punching, or any other technique for that matter, unless the line parted, I'd be hard pressed to blame the knot. A-Jay
  7. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Yes - Back to back Uni-knot is a solid way to connect braid to braid. A-Jay

In town today we're back to $2.39 - the snow machines are being put up as the trails are slowing going bare. Just very glad the Minn Kota uses a different Juice . . . . A-Jay

  11. I have two - I like them and believe they are a fairly solid & decent reel. They don't get a ton of use and are serviced when they need it. They've held up well and I'd expect that to continue. If it's new or in new condition - I think you'll be satisfied. A-Jay

  20. First, if you are having too many "rat's nests" commonly referred to as backlashes, I recommend learning how to set up your casting reel correctly and then practice casting with an inexpensive 15 lb monofilament. Being able to present your offerings successfully & accurately could allow you to make a more confident final line choice. A-Jay

  24. Always an interesting question. I like to fish for bass that other anglers either don’t know are there or are in remote areas most are not willing put the work in to get to. What I mean by “don’t know they are there”, is fishing “Trout” lakes and other lakes that get a ton of recreational use. Both often hold a fantastic population of healthy bass that live out their entire lives relatively unmolested. And the looks received by the trout chasers when they see a spinnerbait get launched to the bank are pretty interesting too. Many of these waters are very easy to get to and fish but by mid-summer, the fishing can be tough. So this requires a special approach; night ops. It’s a ton of fun; usually a good bite and I Never see another angler at night - Ever. It’s totally worth whatever it takes to always have the entire lake all to myself knowing that by noon time, the place will be like NASCAR with ski boats and jet skis. Mid-week nights (Tues, Wed & Thur) are often the better evenings on the really busy places. But the bass are there and are almost always willing to play. Just being out there is half the battle. So what’s my style ? I don’t really know what to call it, but I do know it often includes a head lamp. A-Jay
