  1. You could check out the Lamiglas X-11 Casting Rods. I do not own one but TW says this - Actually part of Lamiglas’ salmon and steelhead rod lineup, the Lamiglas X-11 Casting Rod offers all of the attributes you need for fishing big, heavy swimbaits. Designed for back bouncing for salmon in deep fast moving water, its strengths translate perfectly to swimbait fishing. It has the power to move a big bait at the end of a long cast and make a solid hooksets, and its advanced IM graphite blank delivers excellent sensitivity and feel as you slow roll you swimbait along the bottom or retrieve it through the water column. By no means a broom stick, the X-11 loads up well during the retrieve, on hook sets, and as you launch extra long casts to specific targets. Deep press chrome guides constructed from stainless steel also provide the durability to stand up to heavy weight bass and rigorous fishing conditions, while an exposed reel seat furnishes additional sensitivity. Perfect for fishing a range of swimbaits - anything from 1 to 8-ounces - the Lamiglas X-11 Casting Rod is a sophisticated tool, exhibiting astonishing sensitivity and control, with highly focused affordability. The reviews are mixed. A-Jay
  2. I made a rather sizable TW Black Friday haul - even by my standards. But in an effort to ward off that nasty little primate, I deliberately did not unpack or open any of this load. My plan is to slowly open a few things a month to hopefully make this New stuff last the entire winter. We'll see how it goes, so far so good. A-Jay
  3. Perhaps - I'm always up for a good challenge. With only a few exceptions, the majority of my home lakes have both lmb & smb. And though I'll be "Targeting" the Big Mouth model, any Mutant Bronzeback that happens along will be deftly netted and displayed most proudly by my personal self. A-Jay
  4. Nice Stripers right there. Congrats A-Jay
  5. That's a Good One. Congrats A-Jay
  6. Thank You very much for the support I really do appreciate it. The Stitching method I was using for the first time in that thread, turned out to be mostly a bust for my home waters. Either that or I'm a hack. Like many of us, I'm still In Pursuit of Giant Bass. Strangely, most of my success has come from south of the border. This season will see me making the big swim bait commitment locally. Have actually considered a thread on it . . . . . . maybe I should. A-Jay

  10. When one fishes for smallmouth long enough, those days the bite is "off" start to add up. But when the guy with the fly rod discovers that the only thing they'll eat is a Bug, it's a game changer. A-Jay

  24. Wow ~ I guess it was only a matter of time before we hit the 40 inches per turn mark on a fresh water reel. Won't be long - you only need one turn per cast . . . . A-Jay
  25. I started my fishing journey right after Lyndon B. Johnson was elected president in 1964. So it's kind of hard to remember if I was a natural or not. It sure felt natural then & even more so today, fifty years later. A-Jay
