  2. I did ~ Twice. And after re-reading them, they add very little value. Much like most of these kind of threads. 5. Thanks, but I was just trying to make a point. IMO, My "Brand is better than Your Brand" threads are perhaps my least favorite topics on the entire BR fishing forum. Rarely if ever, do these threads add anything constructive to what is otherwise such an excellent site. I can't even call them entertaining as they routinely cause disharmony. Question regarding certain brands / models are routinely answered with adequate information provided by members who have little experience using the equipment. Posts offering the opportunity to debate brand quality, performance and dependability, illicit responses that appear defensive, misrepresented and hard to interpret; completely different from so many of the high quality responses elsewhere on the forum. 8. Nice Review - TT always does it right. That type of appraisal is not going to help availability much. A-Jay
  9. Yesterday my wife & I took total advantage of one of those picturesque summer days in the north woods. From the portage down the two-track, to slipping the canoe onto the lake, the whole scene was magical; almost fake. As is often the case, except for the loons & eagles we had the place to ourselves. The light & variable winds, a rarity here, called for a subtle presentation and a weight less stick bait is about as subtle as you can get. Lynn fishes with medium spinning gear and on this special day, both her & her tackle were very busy. Presenting the baits close to isolated clumps of coontail in 5-10 ft of water proved to be most effective. A very slow, often dead stick offering, was about all they would eat. This is something I do not excel at (probably never will - too impatient) but the lady finds it second nature and she took me to school, again. With many jumps, drag strips and splashes in my face, between 10am – 2pm several very healthy bass came to the boat. It was one of those times where it wasn’t long before I realized she would be getting a bite on almost every cast. And so as designated net, hook remover and camera man, I might as well just sit back and watch the show; so I did. I was able to land a few bass and a couple of pike but the best fish were coming from the front of the boat. Once the bite slowed down, we had a late lunch on the water while enjoying the golden hues and long shadows of this special afternoon. These are the kind of trips that help keep us warm in January. 14. -A stopper or stopper knot - A small bead to keep the knot from slipping through the weight. - A 1/2 oz tungsten weight - a Boss Punch Hub - this is placed inside the skirt collar - The skirt of your choice - A parasite clip (optional, but does help prevent the plastic from sliding down the hook) - A 5/0 Owner wide gap plus EWG hook (#5139 - very stout, I love this hook) - Your favorite soft plastic - pictured is a Power Bait Beast A-Jay
  15. Hello and Welcome to BR ~ My advice is to read several of the articles in this link regarding the Senko. Then apply what you learn. By making a serious commitment to this bait / technique, you can't help but catch some bass. Good Luck A-Jay http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/12401-senko-faq- look-here-first/

  21. Once I committed to learn to fish a jig, several very positive things happened. I began fishing deeper (off the bank). I began learning the difference between structure and cover. This caused me to started looking at potential bass holding waters much differently. The success I had from having some productive Jig fishing outings provided me the confidence to try other methods & techniques; many of which are now staples of my arsenal. Additionally, The Bass Resource Forum has played a Major Role in many of my most memorable Outings. A-Jay
  22. Cool Concept. Having recently purchased and used 4 travel rods, I would have been more than just a little interested in these rods as a possible choice had I known about them. The option of having a couple of different rod action choices from what is basically 1 rod / case seems very convenient. A-Jay
  23. I'm going to try to let my voice be here both in person and through any & all other means possible. There may not be another chance like this for a while. Look how long it took for this most recent movement. As for which one is best - everyone will have their opinion here, I'm just hoping the top vote getter includes a year round state wide season. Also, I'm still trying to figure out how an extended season of catch & immediate release helps attract more tournaments ? They do not practice "immediate release" more like catch, hold in live well & then release . . . . A-Jay
  24.
