  1. I'm going to try to let my voice be here both in person and through any & all other means possible. There may not be another chance like this for a while. Look how long it took for this most recent movement. As for which one is best - everyone will have their opinion here, I'm just hoping the top vote getter includes a year round state wide season. Also, I'm still trying to figure out how an extended season of catch & immediate release helps attract more tournaments ? They do not practice "immediate release" more like catch, hold in live well & then release . . . . A-Jay
  2. Hello and Welcome to BR ~ As for mastering four lures, with presentations, and all depths, I'm still working on the Mastering part but here's my list; when you're talking green bass ~ 1/2 oz jig & craw Lipless Crank bait Drop Shot Hollow or solid body swim bait Now for the brownies ~ Jerk bait Spinner bait Drop shot Tube. 3. Yes it is ~ The Anglers are Very Happy ~ The Bass are Not . . . . . A-Jay
  4. A few thoughts ~ the Netbait Paca Swim Jig sports a fairly stout Mustad Ultra Point hook. So fishing it on spinning gear and 10lb mono could be problematic in the area of hook penetration, especially if the rod used is of a lighter action. As for Reel Drag benefits - the concept revolves around allowing your reel to give line instead of the line parting or the hook pulling out. It does seem it's another one of those "personal preference" deals - some like it tight, some like it less tight. Personally, I want (and Hope) that my drag works as it designed when called upon. Lighter line - like 10 lb test - will often require some drag usage on larger / more spirited bass. As an angler gains experience with his / her equipment & fighting larger bass, one can become more familiar with how a rod & reel will preform under stain rather than being surprised by it. This can be a real advantage when it comes to putting a few more of the larger fish in the net. Surely there will always still be fish lost. The ones that come right to the boat and then go nuts, the ones that jump 4 feet high and throw the bait right back at you, and the ones that for no reason at all just break you off never giving you a chance to even see them. Your drag may not play a role in those cases, but it's all fair in Love & Bass Fishing . . . A-Jay
  5. Another beauty of a day ~ Your success with it is definitely inspiring me to throw that spybait more. Congrats. A-Jay
  6. LOL ~ Nicely put. A-Jay
  7. I'm also in the No Closed Season corner. C & R is fine - they can even have a Slot if they want to. I believe that most bass anglers practice C & R any way. As far as enforcement goes - I understand the dilemma. But if I could be on the water right after ice out - bass fishing - I certainly would be. A-Jay

Hello and Welcome to BR ~ A-Jay
  9. WTG Stitch ~ and once you're ready - Step up that trailer to the larger Rage Lobster - That one's a little beefier, a bit more durable and can often be the driving force behind a most excellent photo opportunity . . . . A-Jay
  10. A Heavy action frog rod would be too stout for my liking. For me, that rig fishes like a spinner bait, a small swim bait or even a heavy swim jig - so I'll select my rod, reel & line accordingly. I feel that deal doesn't really require any "Specialize" tackle to present and / or fish the bait effectively. Let us know how it goes. A-Jay
  11. You don't get off that easy Tim . . . . Post a picture of that Moose ASAP ! A-Jay
  12. 6-4 caught on a Pointer 128. A-Jay
  13. Drop Shot. Select a dropped length that allows your bait to stay above the grass. Light line & a smaller finesse type presentation often works well in clear water. A-Jay
  14. The Strike King Bottom Dweller spinner bait is a good bait for probing the depths. It's made with narrower some what smaller blades which assist in keeping the bait from riding up off the bottom too far during the retrieve. Another bait that's fairly effective in deep water, and one that's very easy to fish & keep deep, is a swim bait on a jig head. Many of the hollow & solid body paddle tail baits work well. A 4, 5 or even 6 inch bait on a 1/2, 3/4 or even 1 ounce jig head may be something to consider. A-Jay

  21. No I didn't. You know exactly what I'm saying. And I say it because I care Raider. If you are serious about modifying your body composition, resistance training (even low weight high reps) is not your best tool especially for a man who is looking to eliminate 50 lbs of body fat. Distance Running means something different to everyone, but at your present body weight, you are just asking for trouble. Why risk injury? Running has it's benefits, but you'd be better served by modifying your diet and not beating yourself up by running. Select an activity that will safely allow you to burn calories. Speed walking works well, isn't a macho as running, but it's just as effective and a whole lot safer. And a Heart monitor is your friend here as well. A-Jay
  22. I would strongly encourage you NOT to run; on the road especially. At your stated body weight, exercise of no or low impact would be much safer and something you can & will be able to be faithful to. A Bike, a treadmill or a pool comes to mind. And btw - NOW is the time to modify your body composition. It doesn't get any easier as you get older. You're eventually discover that as your life progresses, lifting buildings isn't really that important, but being able to get up and down the stairs is. Good Luck A-Jay
  23. Hello Kevin and Welcome to BR ~ A-Jay
  24. Hello and welcome to BR ~ Depends, sometimes bass will hang around, other times they seem to move off. The popularity of a different "Throw Back Bait" or rig, indicates that is some cases, they can be convinced to strike at least one more time. A-Jay
