What Size Braided Line?
As you make the transition to braid / leader - and while fishing 1/4 jigs and light Texas rigged baits on the braid, be mindful of the hooks you're choosing. The no stretch properties of your main line can sometimes contribute to an angler straightening out hooks during a fight. Super heavy wire gauge hooks are not usually necessary, but very thin ones may not be the best either. Each angler's fish fighting style is a little different, some believe in dropping huge hook sets and then applying Max pressure until the fish is landed; others play the fish more only using the power needed to land the bass. Of course the cover you're fishing plays a role here as well. By simply monitoring your own actions along with how your hooks response to what your doing, you'll soon learn what works for you and hopefully prevent the loss of The One . . . . . . Good Luck A-Jay

Dominent Eye
Hi Stitch, We would run across this while training recruits at the range. There are a couple of ways to approach this and no one way works for everyone - different strokes for different folks. Being a youngster, few "habits" have been formed yet making the timing is right for over coming this. Here's some good info for your particular case. What Is Your "go To" Lure When Fishing Is Slow
For the conditions you're described, a Drop-shot might be something I'd try. And a 4" Curly Tail Berkley Power worm in Green Pumpkin, either nose hooked or Texas rigged on that Drop-shot has been money for a few seasons now; Especially early season (post spawn) while the bait is still small. A-Jay

One Presentation
Raul, Thank you the tip, I really appreciate it. I have not tried the Subwoofer yet, in any capacity as a trailer or a stand alone bait, but I certainly will now. Are you trimming the bait at all are you using it as is ? A-Jay
