    I routinely use a 5.7:1 earlier in the year when the water temps a cooler and a 6.6:1 as the water warms and the fish are a more active. By utilizing the same retrieve speed, the different gear ratio's help to keep the lure's travel speed up or down as the conditions dictate. A-Jay
