  1. I remove it for travel. Super easy just pull the pin. So easy a caveman can do it. 100 times better than stock on a hard surface. Get one. A-Jay
  2. Thanks - Musky there have plenty of fine dining options including the several thousand walleye fingerlings that are stocked here a couple of times a year. Really looking forward to this seeing if & how this musky fishery progresses. If all goes well - I could have an 'other species' option very local. Doesn't hurt if they decide to get mostly over sized either. Looking forward to the coming coolness myself - hope it gets the brown bass bite going - it's been mostly stagnant for a bit. A-Jay
  3. Thanks ~ Yes a 4.8 perch colored Keitech Swing Impact FAT on a 1/2 football head. I use a couple of GoPro's (hero 5 black & session). One is mounted on a YoloTech Boomstick that screws into one of the rear pedestal seat post hole. https://yolotek.com/products/the-boom The other GoPro is clipped to my console wind screen. You can see it in a couple of the pics taken from the back out the boat. Pictures are easily 'captured' out of the video during editing. A-Jay
  4. That's fantastic ~ Such a valuable skill - one we can never hope to emulate and cold never put a price on. Love happy endings. A-Jay
  5. You know as well as anyone - It's always our pleasure & privilege. And clearly she's one I'd of loved to have at my side for the next 12-15 years - but she's on to bigger & better things. A-Jay
  6. The final word ~ Just heard back from the local animal shelter director where Rylee had been surrendered to before we started our foster care. Rylee's consignment training was completed yesterday. West Michigan K-9 was sufficiently impressed with her energy, eagerness to learn, Fearlessness & willingness to try anything & everything new, that the decision has been made to place Rylee into their training program; ie police work, military work, detection or protection work. This is a big deal. Just another example of how there are shelters all across this country full of Rock Star dogs just waiting for some one to give them a chance. A-Jay

  8. Late summer and early fall 2018 smallmouth fishing was respectable for me this season. Here are a few pics of some of my favorites. https://www.facebook.com/life.at.the.45th.parallel/media_set?set=a.1910289519050902&type=3 A-Jay
  9. Thank you very much for that link ~ JW is all about this. Good for him. A-Jay
  10. Clinched the East tonight at Yankee Stadium. That was easily the 'Fastest" baseball season in my 50 years plus of follow this team. Going 104-49 will do that I guess. Hope the pitching hold up in the post season. A-Jay
  11. Couple of thoughts ~ @Buffdaddy54 First off, sounds like you may not have much (or any) experience long bomb casting a big deep diving crank bait and then winding that hard pulling deal back to the boat. Over & over & over again - for like 6-8 hours. I can assure you, it's not like flipping docks. Do it just one time, with any reel you like - high speed, slow speed or perhaps something in between - one thing's for certain - you'll get some clarity. Additionally you may be able to recognize a little of that fatigued you referred to. Secondly, actually doing for an extended period of time will allow you to identify what you prefer - and it is all about personal preference. Either Low IPT or High IPT - faster gear ratio or slower. Personally, I prefer a 'slower' reel - on most (but not all) moving baits including crank baits. Although I'm required to turn the reel handle faster & more times per retrieve, it's easier to actually turn the handle which I find less fatiguing than having to apply more effort on less reel handle turns. I have much more endurance this way which means I can make more casts & cover more water which both equate to more & bigger bass in the net. Here I talk about how I use what is essentially a cranking reel to burn my spinnerbaits - works well for me. YMMV A-Jay
  12. Don't blame me my friend ~ 30's here tomorrow night. Even the bait monkey is cold. A-Jay
  13. It's so funny because we've been cloudy, overcast & rain here for a WEEK and the smallie fishing has been Nonexistent ! I'd be very happy to trade you. Now that I think of it - this mess is headed your way - Put on a hat & gas up that Lund ! A-Jay
  14. Well for me Favorite & Most Productive are not exactly the same. Favorite for me means it's the biggest bass catcher while most productive, guess that one's self-explanatory. Favorite - big spinnerbait (with an Umbrella Rig not far behind) Most Productive is a SK Rage Bug on a swinghead (and second place here is on another plant !) A-Jay
  15. Nice Trip and Beautiful Fall Bass ~ And on a flat you say ? Congrats A-Jay
  16. And this is why I fish as much as I do AND why winter trips south of the border are mandatory ~ A-Jay
  17. Which Shimano reel do you like at that price point? If you would like a decent example of a Diawa product, the Tatula line is pretty sweet. A-Jay

  22. My jerkbait rods are much lighter and softer action than my squarebill rods. Trebles on jerkbaits are smaller and I rarely fish them in cover. Where my squarebills are being throw in & around all kinds of cover. Jerkbaits get thrown on 10 - 12lb fluorocarbon while squarebills see heavier twine in the 14 - 20 lb class. So all that to me means - two different sticks. My favorite jerkbait rods is the Alpha Rods Slasher - super light and has the right amount of length, sensitivity & back end to do the job I need when casting & setting hooks at a distance. https://www.alphaangler.com/collections/rods/products/jerkbait-fishing-rod All my squarebills are thrown on the Quantum KVD 7'4" MH Composite Cranking rod. http://www.quantumfishing.com/tour-kvd-pt-tkvd746mb-pb3.html A-Jay
  23. Took advantage of this unseasonably warm Mid-September day to clean my boat carpet. Used Star Brite Ultimate Carpet Clean. My first time using it and it worked well. I can recommend it. Here's a little more info. A-Jay
  24. The Owner Hyper Wire Black Split Ring is really good and just may be the industry standard to quality. Size #3 (or #4 if you plus size those trebles) should do you nicely right there. A-Jay
