Trailer jack wheel stop
@looking45 Since it's held on with just the peg & the pin, I remove it and place the unit in my truck once I'm hooked up and replace it upon my return. Takes a grand total of about 10 seconds. Just helps keep the honest people honest and the others can look somewhere else. I do keep the OE wheel (with nut & bolt) in my truck box as well if I need to unhook the trailer on a less than smooth surface. If you routinely use man power to 'position' your rig and it's done on a smooth semi-flat surface and your OE plastic wheel does not roll well (insert PIA) This rig is really the way to go. First time I move the Pro-V after the initial install, it was so easy to move, I actually laughed out loud. A-Jay

Our latest Foster ~ Rylee
Latest update and it's all good. After being with us for just a few days, Rylee was impressing us at every turn. So much so that we really felt like she had the capacity for something well beyond being trained & eventually re-homed as a pet; not that that's a bad thing. Her intensity, willingness to please & her sheer joy of being challenged, led us to start looking for what could be her 'next step'. Well after talking to & working with the local animal shelter director and then several calls, inquiries and recommendations, we reached out to West Michigan K9. We were hoping to donate Rylee to be trained & placed as a service dog for a veteran in need. They agreed to see her for an evaluation and if they liked what they saw they'd place Rylee into their training program. Well, she was there bright an early this morning. Didn't take long before Rylee had a few more fans. So she is currently enrolled in the 2 week consignment training there and after it's completion we'll have a better idea what direction she could be headed next; training wise. The West Michigan K9 Facility is impressive to say the least. Here's their site - https://www.westmichigank9.com/ We always get a little bummed out when we have to say good-bye to a foster (regardless of the length of their stay) but knowing what could be ahead for Miss Rylee is very exciting at the same time. Re-powering the Lund 1875 Pro-V Bass Boat
The Latest ~ Jack Plates in and I just scheduled my date(s) for the re-power. On Wednesday the 12th, I'll be dropping off the Pro-V Bass. Expect to be up & running for that next weekend. But until then - I'm still on the hunt for over-sized brown bass. Back at it crack of dawn tomorrow. A-Jay

Cold weather/rain fishing jacket and pants/bibs
I prefer wind proof gortex bibs & a long jacket. Will layer up or down under them as needed. Tried the heavier 'made for super cold' units and they were too bulky to cast & fish in for me. Cabels Guide wear & HUK are the outwear I'm in the most now. And I'll layer with a Columbia Omni-heat base and then usually fleece & or something else fairly thermal. A-Jay

Fall Crankbaiting!
While inches per turn vary wildly between brands, and spool size definitely plays a role in the final numbers, I'm a slow(er) rel kind of guy when it comes to cranking. Like @Boomstick above, I find it easier to speed up then slow down. So 5.3:1. 5.7:1 & 6.6:1 are what I reach for in most cranking deals. That said, I do like my Revo SX - it's on my favorite jig rod. Fingers/Hand Issues - too much fishing?
Congratulations, I see you've been introduced to Mr Arthritis. Although he's never really welcome that rarely stops him from stepping in & and ruining the party. Just keep fishing. A-Jay https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/arthritis/multimedia/arthritis/sls-20076952?s=1

Last thread - is this thing sufficient for bait storage?
My thought was to turn the one you posted into a 'floating live well'. By hanging it off your kayak, the water you're in would obviously be an endless supply helping to keep your bait alive. Otherwise, with such a small self contained unit, there's a decent chance the bait would use up the limited O2 in the water quickly. Not what you want. A-Jay

Auto Inflate PFD question
I would say the down side is that it's illegal in NH. Can not go wrong by following the letter of the law. btw - Self-inflating type III's need maintenance & periodic rearming - $$$$ A USCG certified, serviceable and properly fitted standard type III, may be a good plan. May not look the coolest but they float everytime and just try and sink one Good Luck. A-Jay

Poppers
I am a a stout believer in the Megabass Pop Max ~ The perch pattern in particular which has accounted for quite a few 5 lb plus smallies for me. I don't leave home with one (or three) A-Jay

Last thread - is this thing sufficient for bait storage?
Perhaps drill a load of tiny holes in it and toss it over the side. Drag it around as you go. Should keep'm fresh. A-Jay
