  4. Early and late in the season here in the MI north woods, the warmest part of the day sees better results for me. May not always be the case, but more often than not, with the sun comes the fun. As the season progresses and as the daylight lengthens & the water warms, sees me getting on the water earlier and staying later. And during the warmest and busiest weeks, the cover of darkness feeds my addiction. A-Jay
  5. With a 20hp motor, going anywhere 'fast' may not be part of your fishing day. Also the current models are rated for 50hp, so hanging a 75hp may be unadvisable. http://www.trackerboats.com/boat/specs.cfm?boat=3878 Here's some recent forum info by @Peter Eikenberry on the subject. A-Jay

  15. The chatterbait type lures are real fish catchers. Swim bait & boot tail trailers have proven themselves enough to be one of my first choices. But when looking for an alternative the Culprit Incredi Craw is an effective option. Some of the benefits of heading in this type of trailer direction are; less lift and the ability to speed up the retrieve a bit. I believe this (speed) is an often over looked deal with these baits. After the water warms a little, in the clearer water's I'm fishing, this has been a decent producer abd one I'll be working on a little more this coming season. With the right combination of circumstance (a balanced bait/ trailer combo as well as fishing conditions) some vibrating jig type baits when moved along at a good clip, have a tendency to 'hunt' quite a bit while they track along. Rarely a bad thing. A-Jay
  16. @TOXIC any additional information, and perhaps pictures of this new trailer ? Is this the one Bret Hite was using last year ? A-Jay
  17. Big St Croix fan myself ~ I fish & enjoy a few rods from several lines. While in a local tackle shop the other day, I was able to check out the Avid X line. First time I've seen these in person. Nice subtle build, decent components and it just felt 'right'. (I've always liked a nice cork split grip too). The price point fits in between the Mojo Bass & the LTB line. (which is by far my favorite) These are also SCIII blanks and one I'd seriously consider owning. http://stcroixrods.com/products/freshwater/avid-x A-Jay
